Troncones is a sleepy little beach town with bad roads, being repaired lined with private homes and a few hotels. Found a Town Car taxi in front of Scruples in Ixtapa who told us he could only charge us the published rate of 400 pesos but Tomas gladly accepted a tip and it was very comfortable for five people. The loaded taxi scraped on many of the toppes northwest till we came to The Inn at Manzanillo Bay. The gravel parking lot only had one Car, We came down about 5 steep stone steps Through a well crafted stone gate and into a the tall palapa with a stunning view of the infinity pool and the Individual Hotel Huts with Palapa roofs. Everything was perfectly landscaped. We had a round of drinks in the restaurant and moved down to rout iron furniture on a shaded patio down bu the bay. The volcanic rock formations cause the surf to break over a long distance making it a favorite place for surfers. We explored up and down the beautiful beach, did some shelling and watched the tiny crabs. Belem is the manager and her husband Will is great nature photographer. He took us for a nature walk and showed us the hotel huts. We went back up to the Palapa to eat to save the staff running our food to the beach. Everyone was very pleased with the food. My wife especially liked the shrimp quesodilas and my fish tacos were the best I have had. The kitchen is in full view and is very clean. There is a surf shop and a nice little gift shop. A day pass is available for people who want to use the pool but we just soaked up the beauty, good food and drinks. This is a very quiet hotel and we found the staff to be very professional and friendly. We are hoping to stay there a couple nights next winter, hopefully on tequila Tuesday when they have live entertainment. Next time we may be more adventuresome and take the bus there. My words could never describe how perfect this place is.
