The Inn at Manzanillo Bay
Ranked #3 of 8 Hotels in Troncones
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed January 19, 2014

Troncones is a sleepy little beach town with bad roads, being repaired lined with private homes and a few hotels. Found a Town Car taxi in front of Scruples in Ixtapa who told us he could only charge us the published rate of 400 pesos but Tomas gladly accepted a tip and it was very comfortable for five people. The loaded taxi scraped on many of the toppes northwest till we came to The Inn at Manzanillo Bay. The gravel parking lot only had one Car, We came down about 5 steep stone steps Through a well crafted stone gate and into a the tall palapa with a stunning view of the infinity pool and the Individual Hotel Huts with Palapa roofs. Everything was perfectly landscaped. We had a round of drinks in the restaurant and moved down to rout iron furniture on a shaded patio down bu the bay. The volcanic rock formations cause the surf to break over a long distance making it a favorite place for surfers. We explored up and down the beautiful beach, did some shelling and watched the tiny crabs. Belem is the manager and her husband Will is great nature photographer. He took us for a nature walk and showed us the hotel huts. We went back up to the Palapa to eat to save the staff running our food to the beach. Everyone was very pleased with the food. My wife especially liked the shrimp quesodilas and my fish tacos were the best I have had. The kitchen is in full view and is very clean. There is a surf shop and a nice little gift shop. A day pass is available for people who want to use the pool but we just soaked up the beauty, good food and drinks. This is a very quiet hotel and we found the staff to be very professional and friendly. We are hoping to stay there a couple nights next winter, hopefully on tequila Tuesday when they have live entertainment. Next time we may be more adventuresome and take the bus there. My words could never describe how perfect this place is.

We dropped into the hotel restaurant just to check it out. Not a car in the parking lot so we almost turned around but decided to go in for a drink. Ordered drinks and the smoked marlin appetizer salad - that was it, we stayed for what turned out to be one of the best dinners we had during our two-week vacation! I had the spare ribs and my wife had the fish tacos. Both done to perfection! And the ambience just completed the visit. The parking lot won't be empty for long!!

My husband and I had a 10 day honeymoon here and it was amazing! It was so lovely and peaceful, we both agreed that this was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had! Belam and the entire staff at the Inn were so friendly and accommodating, they really made us feel at home and pampered! The food and drinks were delicious too, you could spend every meal in the restaurant and not get sick of the menu! This is a special place where you can just relax and settle into a simple beach life! We had a wonderful time, thank you guys so much, you were the best!

Room Tip: You can hear the ocean from the bungalows and are just steps from the pool! And they have a wonderfu...

We had an amazing time! My fiance and I had the most amazing vacation. We were looking for a relaxing and secluded spot and this was it for us. The Inn at Manzanillo Bay is a great place to stay. My fiance was able to surf every day and I was able to walk every morning enjoying the beautiful beach. This place is definetely exactly what we were looking for. They have the most amazing staff. They were all great. What really sets this place apart from others is all of the terrific staff, they made us feel really comfortable. To all of you at Manzanillo Bay we say thank you very much for making our vacation a very special time. *Belen, thank you very much for all your help. We will never forget it*

We held our destination wedding at the Inn at Manzanillo bay and everything was great. The help in planning and setting everything up was amazing and we had a beautiful set up, getting married with our feet in the sand, looking out to the ocean. Food, drinks were perfect and the staff was phenomenal and our wedding party ate, drank and danced till three in morning.

After the wedding we spend an amazing week in Troncones, very happy and comfortable at the Inn. I recommend fishing and asking the kitchen to prepare some special dishes, I had some of the best food I ever had in Mexico at the Inn

We flew in last night from a 7 night stay at the Inn and while home is wonderful, a piece of our heart will be forever left at Manzanillo Bay. Everything; the bungalows, the staff, the food, the service, THE VIEW, the beach, the mountains, the town was AMAZING! We did not have a car so Belem (we love you Belem!) called a taxi driver, Victor, who could take us to the more remote surf spots that we had come for. Victor did not disappoint! He knew right where to go and gave my husband all the "local" insight on the waves. We also took a horseback ride along the beach and walked to town twice. Safety is not an issue. Take a couple of books and bathing suits because that is all you'll need at this paradise away from home! P.S. Don't forget plenty of pesos because there aren't any ATMs anywhere nearby and you'll need cash in town.

Room Tip: We had bungalow 7 which was perfect for us, right in the middle of the property.

From the perfect wedding ceremony and a crazy pool wedding after party to a perfect surf and fishing trip with friends to a week of peaceful reading and surfing alone:

When i was invited by some New York friends to attend their wedding in mexico at a surf beach I could not resist and booked myself a flight from germany, escaping from the first slip of temperatures in the german autumn to the end of the rainy season in mexico. I decided to stay a week longer than the rest to relax from a busy year and recharge my batteries.

My expectations have been at the highest level but they have been topped by reality.

First: because Michael and Winn, the owners, are caring professionals who know their business and take care of every detail, from the purified water in the cabañas to the cocktails at the bar, from the quality of the towels in the room to the variety of surfboards to rent, from the fresh fruits for breakfast to the grilled lobster, ...
Second: because Bellen, the manager, is a true angel, knows how to get things running smooth, treats her team with respect and a leading hand, cares for her guests with a passion for special treats, ideas, decorations (if you plan to celebrate), ...
Third: because every one of the team seems to love what they do, from the gardener to the cooks.
Fourth: because of a consistent surf break directly in front of you and nearby spots for variety and challenge
Sixths: because Michael has owned several restaurants before and knows how to run a tasty kitchen on a high level in the middle of nowhere (i stayed for more than two weeks and never was bored or disappointed or - even worse, but not rare for south america - had a bad stomache)
