Best most relaxing place I have stayed! Beautiful location and very comfortable rooms. Stayed in guest room which has a king size bed private bathroom and shower walk in in closet and terrace. But best of all is the view of the ocean. You won't be be disappointed I am looking forward to next vacation at casa campana!

Room Tip: The casita is large with comfortable furnishing and beautiful views

Travel time from the between the airport and Casa Campana is a fun adventure. It’s about a thirty minute drive. On the way, we stopped at a large grocery store and purchased all the beer and food we needed. The selection was huge and the prices were right. I enjoyed viewing the different scenery (both social and geological).

Upon arrival to Casa Campana, we were given a warm and vibrant welcome from our hosts. The facilities are clean and inviting. Glass windows and open air spaces located throughout the property allow the beachfront view to be enjoyed from every location.

The mezzanine balcony provides a bird’s eye view of the beach. The elevated viewing of the local fisherman while enjoying your lunch is a wonderful and relaxing experience.

The pool is awesome and the garden is beautiful.

While lying in bed, we watched whales swimming in the ocean. You can’t put a price on the view!! Speaking of price, it’s very reasonable. We were provided maid services for the duration of our stay. Clean linens, dishes and facilities are much appreciated!

We stayed for a week at Casa Campana. During our stay, we viewed the towns, enjoyed the restaurants and set sail on the high seas. The fishing was great, but the food was even better. Great night life (if you’re interested).

We are returning next year and look forward to the rest, relaxation and the reuniting of old friends.

Room Tip: We stayed in three different rooms, they are all great!

I have stayed at this private home almost every year since 2003!! The home is beautiful! It is right on the ocean. While lying in my bed at night I get the soft ocean breezes and the sound of waves lapping the shore. During the day sitting on the patios overlooking the ocean and watching the birds and looking for whales and dolphins is so very relaxing. The rooms are large with all the amenities of a hotel room.

The town is a true Mexican town. They have a town square where they have community parties. There is such a wide variety of resturants to choose from!! From the roadside vendor to a 5* diing experience. The town offers a large variety of touristy things to do also!! horseback riding through the jungle and over the beaches, zip lining, fishing, shopping tec.
Then just a short bus ride away is MORE shopping , swimming with dolphins, whale watching boat rides.... I could just go on and on but I hope I've painted the picture for you next vacation!

Room Tip: I clicked on breakfast rating but we never ate there. I'm NOT sure if breakfast is provided. I...

Casa Campana is probably one of the best locations to stay in Sayulita (in my opinion). My husband and I had never been to Sayulita before this trip, but we knew that we wanted a swimming pool, AC, and to be close to town and the beach. We had narrowed our choices down to Casa de los Arcos and Casa Campana. Eventually we decided on Casa Campana, mainly because it seemed to be a closer walk to town. It was hard for us to picture how far of a walk to town the rentals were based on the map on sayulitalife.com. We are very glad that we chose the closer location, the other rental we were looking at was only 5 minutes further down the road, but in the rainy season that 5 minutes is huge.

We stayed in guest suite #2. It was just as described by other reviewers on Trip Advisor. We did use the safe, but also left everything in the closet which has a dead bolt. It felt secure enough that we were able to leave the bedroom doors open all day, even when we weren’t there. Sayulita in August is HOT and humid, the air conditioning worked fabulous and was necessary. The mosquito’s are also an issue during the summer, but by closing the doors to the room and bathroom we were able to eliminate this problem (at least while we were sleeping and hanging out in the room). There definitely was not a noise issue for us, although we were there in the off season. The only thing that we could hear at night were the waves breaking against the shore and the crazy thunder storms. It was amazing to wake up in the middle of the night to spectacular bolts of lightning shooting across the sky of the pacific. Usually the rain had ceased by morning and we were able to enjoy the day.

Most of our days were spent eating at the local restaurants in town and lounging poolside. I must say, the pool at Casa Campana is top notch. There are even 3 built-in barstools at a swim up bar (BYOB and BYOBartender of course). Since it was the off season we had the pool to ourselves, we were able to listen to the crashing surf or bring our portable ipod player down to listen to some music. Very relaxing.

The homeowners were not there, but the house-sitter John was very helpful. He recommended a great guy to get a surfing lesson from, and a few good restaurants to eat at.

Room Amenities include: bath towels, hand towels, wash towels, beach towels, hair dryer, bar/facial soap, hand soap, dish soap, bottle (jug) water, lockable safe, refrigerator, coffee pot, coffee mugs, drinking glasses, utensils, dishes (plates and bowels), wine opener, hand juicer, cutting boards, beach umbrella, beach chairs, boogie boards, WIFI.

My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend in January 2011 in Sayulita, (our first trip to this charming town). We loved everything about our trip, and at the top of the list is Casa Campana and the warm hospitality of Cheryl and Richard. We stayed in the Garden Casita which was much more space than we needed, but we enjoyed every square inch! On three levels, our favorite was the top --- a palapa covered loft with a king size bed. Each morning, we enjoyed our coffee and pastries (bought on the beach from a friendly vendedora) on the middle level terrace. On the ground level, the kitchen and living areas were very accommodating, and provide 2 additional bedrooms and a full bath. A family or traveling couples (2 orm 3) would be very comfortable in this arrangement.
Top ratings go to the decor, the art (much of which is Cheryl's), the cleanliness, the comfort, and the price at Casa Campana. As we walked around town, we compared other properties and agreed that we had the best spot of all!
I read the reviews about the noise levels in Sayulita and must say there was nothing distracting or uncomfortable to us. In fact, we found the location to be peaceful and relaxing.
Casa Campana is to hotels, as Sayulita is to Mexico: charming, genuine, authentically Mexican....humble to the point of sweetness.

We stayed at Casa Campana for one week in January 2011. Had never stayed here before, was just going by the positive reviews. We were not disappointed. Our room, guest room #2, had a perfect king sized bed, firm but not hard, nice linens, large lockable walk in closet with a safe, double bathroom sinks, yes the unusual outdoor shower (don't worry it is private), terrace with chairs and another huge private terrace with four chairs and coffee table, and large fridge. Room also has a coffeemaker and microwave. The view from this terrace was of the fishing boats on the beach. I knew my husband would like this part of it, watching the activity on the beach all day. The Casa also has beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards to borrow, good swimming and boogie boarding area is right outside your door. The Casa also has a pool area with a nice pool deck area with chairs for tanning. Hosts Cheryl & Richard are most helpful with where to eat, the best shops, they were very helpful with anything. The noise issue really wasn't an issue in this location. It is perfectly located on the beach and around the corner from the town, easy walk to breakfast & shops. We fell asleep to the sounds of the waves, occasionally heard faint music from town which stopped around 10:00. Cheryl is very sensitive to this issue and wouldn't hesitate to contact a bar if the music went longer or was louder. Breakfast was either at Break Fast or a coffee and pastry at Panini's bakery. This town has great restaurants, shops and is small enough to walk around. We have stayed at many B&Bs in the PV area and are quite particular - but we thought this place was a gem. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay here agains.

When we arrived at Casa Campana, we were very pleased. The rooms are lovely, the welcome was warm, the location is great. All was well until we went to bed around 10:30 p.m., just the time that a neighboring nightclub turned on the dance music. This was LOUD, so loud that I could still make out the lyrics to the songs when I was wearing earplugs. It was difficult to sleep, and the music did not stop until around 3:00 a.m. We stayed for nine nights, and the dance music throbbed every night except Sunday. It really diminished our experience.

We talked to the managers (the owners were away, but they had nice friends taking care of the place), and they said that the club manager has heard many complaints but didn't do anything about it. We even tried to file a complaint with the police -- that didn't work. Since there aren't other comments on Trip Advisor about the noise, I don't know if it was a problem because of the time of year that we were there (Christmas-New Year's), but it was a real issue.

I regret that I wouldn't recommend this spot to a friend, because the owners didn't do anything wrong. But I was very disappointed that the peaceful vacation I was looking forward to was not available at Casa Campana.
