After our first negative experience we thought we would give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt. What a mistake! Last month a friend went to pay the bill with a 50.00 U.S. Bill. He was told it was equivalent to 500 pesos. When we heard this we asked for the bill back and we would pay with pesos. It was our friend's first visit so he was unaware. Needless to say the waiter was not happy but he eventually agreed. The food was mediocre. Yesterday was a horrible experience! Again, we took visiting friends to the beach at Sayulita. Told we would have to pay 300 pesos for the table and chairs I made sure this included the 4 of us. We could order food that would be deducted from the 300 pesos. When the bill came (again It was mediocre snacks) the bill was 600 pesos. We had only ordered 327 pesos worth so that is what the bill should have been. We were being charged for two rentals! There were many empty tables so that was not an issue. My fronted gave the waitress a 1000 peso bill. When she did not return he went see where his change was. She told him she had given him the 400 peso change and he had given her a 30 peso tip!!! This was completely a lie. The manager was called and he stood by his waitress. It was unbelievable. An international incident almost ensued. We stood our ground and finally got the 400 pesos change. Another couple sitting nearby and unknown to us came to our defence to say the waitress had not returned with change. Be aware of this restaurant. They try to take advantage of unsuspecting tourists. Unfriendly, cheating behaviour, poor food. Stay away!
