“A slice of heaven!”
Reviewed April 4, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Casa Sandia has everything you need in a rental home. All amenities in the kitchen, bath and pool area; cozy decor. There are 2 units and we rented both as we were a party of 5. So glad we did not have to share with other people as ALL of the outdoor living space is fun at different times of the day and the pool area is small yet big enough for a family. Easy walk to town and beach. Definitely take a flashlight for walk home and take the short cut down the stairs per the owners walking directions. We felt very safe at the house and in town. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is due to the wonderful location in the jungle.. which brings with it the sounds of the jungle. Birds, turkeys, roosters, etc are very vibrant.

“Absolute Paradise - Amazing Views !”
Reviewed March 7, 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Stayed for 10 days at Casa Sandia which was so awesome. We were a family of 4, us plus our teenagers who stayed downstairs and we were upstairs. This was our best vacation ever. Beautiful views, beautiful artwork, beautiful Mexican architecture, beautiful gardens and excellent service from Concha, the property manager, Maria the house cleaner and Miguel who took care of the pool and the gardens. We will be back for sure at this awesome property and we fell in love with this absolutely wonderful little town.

“Excellent!”
Reviewed February 23, 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Well, what can I say ‘Casa Sandia’ was wonderful. We rented the whole house left on Feb 21/17 , a couple upstairs, and 2 of us in the lower unit. The kitchens had everything you needed, micro, blender, toaster, pots and pans, dishes, coffee maker. Pool is small, a little chilly, but you sure needed it due to the hot weather. A beautiful view from the Casa on all three floors. We loved hearing the Rooster’s serenading the village around us(lots of them), plus the odd ‘Gobble, Gobble’ from the turkey and the ‘Hee Haw’ from the grey donkey next door. A walk to the town of Sayulita was a hike down and back up by the pathway close by or you could walk the road which was longer, but you can chat with the locals or other ‘Gringo’s) there are Casa’s everywhere, and maybe a kind person would offer you a ride on a 4 wheeler or golf cart. Sayulita is bustling with surfers, hippies, yuppies, seniors and locals, lots of great restaurants and shops and the beer is cheap so you can sit and watch the surfers or paddle boarders ride the waves all day. We will be back………

“We enjoyed our villa for the week”
Reviewed March 29, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We rented the entire villa as there was a lot of us. We had two teenagers and 10 year old twins in the lower Sandia as it offered a queen/king bed in a private room, then also two twin beds in a section of the main living area. The upper Sandia we kept to ourselves for quieter adult time. Both Sandias offered VERY COMFORTABLE beds. We all expressed how well we slept and how soft the sheets were. Both kitchens offered all amenities needed for our cooking needs. The BBQ by the pool was used twice during our stay. The bathrooms were clean, well stocked with fresh towels. We enjoyed serving meals at the upper Sandia bar and eating at the outdoor table. We made use of the pool after a hot hike up the hill to the house from the plaza. The very upper level was utilized for quiet reading and also a small birthday celebration for one of the kids. We loved how close the villa was to the plaza, beach, stores and eateries. Our only downfalls were, the smell of the horse stall RIGHT NEXT to the villa. The sound of the donkey next door at early morning hours. And we will warn other visitors to utilize the safe at ALL TIMES. We accidentally left a money pouch in the villa with all doors locked and we were still missing the money when we returned. Thankfully the majority of our money was in the safe or on our person. Just be wary, a locked gate and locked doors and windows still didn't seem to deter this thief. I will also throw in, we had a very friendly cat we nicknamed Smores due to her coloring. She's very friendly and not a pest, but if you are all allergic, you will need to lock up the house at all times. She knows her way in. All in all, I would recommend this villa to others, but when we do return I'll be looking at other options in the area.

Management Response
Mar 30, 2016
With all the things you liked about the house, I was surprised at your rating. All in all it sounded like you did enjoy your stay, despite some of the issues you mentioned. Thanks for your feedback and yes it is always nice to try other places on your next visit to Sayulita and we do hope you return. In a village like this, there are many things to love and and it is always best practice anywhere you travel to be sure and lock up valuables.

It was really hot during our visit and the pool was a lifesaver. The house was perfect for our family of 5 with young adults and teens. We cooked, watched the sunset, swam and were minutes from town. The staff were responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. It was hard to leave.

Casa Sandia is charming. The architecture and design is delightful and practical. We stayed in the upper studio apartment which almost felt like a one bedroom. It was spacious for 2 especially considering the lovely wrap around deck right off our living room plus the roof top deck. The roosters may awaken you but get up, sit on the deck with a cup of coffee and watch the sun come up and light up the town from your deck with a perfect view. Concha the manager was cheerful and so helpful with anything we needed. We are in our 60's and in pretty good shape. The steep walk into town is only a few blocks but we found it a challenge. We got a golf cart for a couple days to give ourselves a break.

We stayed 4 days at Casa Sandia in Sayulita. We have 2 young children and rented both the upstairs and the downstairs units. The house is well-maintained and has everything you need. We enjoyed the short walk into town, but also loved how peaceful the house was. We would definitely come back!
