Macondo Bungalows

Fell in love with Sayulita and fell in love with Macondo Bungalows! Our first time renting a place other than the standard hotel and we absolutely loved it. Clean and the hosts are so welcoming and accommodating. We truly felt that this was our home staying with family! Close to everything, quiet and simply amazing. We stayed in the Traveller Palm and it was more than enough. Will definitely be back!!

Room Tip: any room is amazing your in the heart of it all!

My friend and I loved everything about Macondo. Seriously enjoyed every minute of our stay and did not want to leave. I really couldn't find something to complain about if I tried. I HIGHLY recommend Macondo, especially some of the best rates in town!

My friend and I stayed in the Terrace Bungalow for a week in February. We absolutely loved it. The apartment was clean, spacious, had a big eat in kitchen and a wrap around terrace. We cooked in the apartment a few times. Enjoyed sitting out on the terrace and people watching. The bedroom has 2 big closets, an armoire and a comfy full size bed. The bathroom is very spacious and the hot shower is great! The bungalow is just 2 blocks from the beach. Melanie and Charlie are the perfect hosts. They are around when you need them and provide any help you might need. They even provide surf boards, boogie boards, beach towels, beach mats, sunblock and free wifi for their guests. They have a really great staff working for them. We switched rooms one night and the housekeeper found my iPod that I left behind and returned it to me. Also we had bought a souvenir that broke and Charlie was kind enough to super glue it back together for us. They made us feel right at home in Sayulita. The apartment is in the quieter part of town but close enough to the Plaza where all the action is. We thought the location was perfect!

This was our second visit to Sayulita Dec 21 - Jan 1. Stayed at Macondo again and it was as great as the first time. Location to the main plaza and the beach are perfect. We had three of the units this time for our family and it worked out perfect. Charlie and Melanie are the perfect hosts and take care of their property and quests to the upmost perfection.

The bungalows have eveything you need for an enjoyable stay. Kitchen facilities if required, large bathrooms, a safe, beach towels, surfboards, beach chairs and umbrellas. The beach is a 5 minute stroll down the street. The main plaza is a very short walk away. Macondo is situated on the North side of the river, away from the noise of the Plaza in the evenings and no steep hill climbs.

If you are a light sleeper, or like to sleep late, I do recommend earplugs as Sayulita life gets going early in the morning and the roosters that live over a few streets start crowing right around 7:15 a.m.

Charlie and Melanie always have a good suggestion for places to eat or sights to see and will make sure all is well with your stay at Macondo.

Room Tip: We stayed in Sunrise, Traveler Palm and Courtyard this trip. Last year we were in the Terrace which...

My husband and I stayed in Macondo Bungalows during our last trip to Sayulita. It's a cute house in a perfect location - close enough to the main town plaza to walk to (but far enough away to be able to sleep at night) and just a few blocks easy walk to the beach. There are towels, boogie boards, and other beach toys for guests to use. The owners are also very friendly and accommodating, and the room had a huge living room/kitchen area. It's on a busy street so it gets a little noisy at night (bring your ear plugs!), but still much quieter than on the main plaza.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Terrace room, but we saw that the top floor room had a nice deck with a hammock. We...

We just returned from a 5 week vacation and our 4th stay at Macondo Bungalows, and it was fantastic as always. Macondo is in a perfect location, close enough to the action, but far enough away that it isn't too noisy. We had family and friends with us for the first couple of weeks and basically had the whole complex to ourselves, which was wonderful. We spent the full 5 weeks in the Terrace, so we were able to settle in and feel right at home. Our hosts Chuck and Mel, as always, were super helpful and accomodating. It is such a treat to return to our home away from home.

Room Tip: All the rooms have their own charm, we enjoy having a full kitchen, so we like to be in the Rooftop...
