Macondo Bungalows
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Just got back from our trip to Mexico where we stayed at Macondo Bungalows. It was a great trip. I really recommend the Rooftop bungalow. It was great views of the city and a very interesting open air feeling. Macondo is close enough to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. Chuck and Mel were great hosts and provide everything you need for the beach. I will be back next year.

Room Tip: The Rooftop is the best place to stay

We had a great stay at Macondo Bungalows. Charlie and Melanie have a great place - comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The location is great, about a block and a half from the beach, and an easy 10 min walk to the central restaurants. If you prefer to be quiet, head to the beach and make a right .... luckily enough for you Macondo supplies beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas and mats to relax. It is a quiet stretch with few vendors and even fewer people. If you would like to surf, head left with one of the boards available to you from Macondo. Charlie and Melanie are great, with so much information about the restaurants and village. We would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: For this trip we were just the 2 of us, so we stayed in the Sunrise room - but if we come with famil...

My daughter and I just returned from our second stay at Macondo Bungalows. We love Sayulita and we love staying here. Charlie and Melanie are wonderful hosts. Macondo is just a short walk to the beach and to town. The kitchens are well stocked with anything you might need for cooking. Surfboards, boogie boards, and beach towels are available for guests to use at no charge. All of the units are nice - you can't go wrong with any of them. I am trying to figure out how soon we can go back! Kate & Chloe

We just returned from an eleven night stay at Macondo, one week with friends and family and a few days on our own, the set up at Macondo is perfect for both. We all shared an outdoor kitchen for the first week, and it worked out perfectly, and then we moved into another bungalow for the remainder of our holiday. Chuck and Melanie ensured that everything was perfect, accommodating our last minute plans to sneak in a few extra days and acting as gracious hosts. Having been to Sayulita a number of times, but usually renting a house, we were not sure what it would be like staying close to town, but the location of Macondo is perfect, close enough, but not too close to all the "across the bridge" noise. We HIGHLY recommend a stay at Macondo when you next visit Sayulita.

Room Tip: All the rooms are wonderful, but if you are travelling with children the terrace would be a good cho...

My fiancee and I spent 10 nights and Macondo and we couldn't be happier. These bungalows provide outstanding value for your money, and all amenities are provided. We love the clean, quiet and laid back atmosphere of Macondo. Charlie and Mel are wonderful hosts! We can't wait to come back next year.

Room Tip: We spent 5 nights in the Sunrise and 5 nights in the Toscana. We enjoyed both rooms, but if you can...

Hosts Melanie & Charlie Vinge are very welcoming to macondo bungalos. They keep their resort in tip top shape and they and their staff work very hard to keep the Mexican flavor alive. The rooms are beautifully decorated and are cleaned daily and bottled water and coffee is free. The surfing and beach equipment are also free to all patrons. Surfing, bars, street cart vendors and restaurants all supply excellent favor and are within a 5-10 minute walk from macondo bungalos. The gardens of the resort are beautifully maintained in the mexican tradition. Our stay was extremely enjoyable & have recommended the resort to many friends & acquaintances. We are looking foreword to our next visit as this vacation was everything we hoped for & more.

Room Tip: Main floor. Tuscana no stairs for my bad knees.
