Of all of the places that I visited in the five countries that I went to, this was the most dramatic. It was spiritually dramatic as well as culturally and historically dramatic. We were invited into the main church when the service was in progress. No seats. The holiness of the place brings you to your knees. I am not even a Catholic but can feel the presence of God. Many of the churches in Russia were beautiful but this was Holy. In another church in the complex we all crowded in and I noticed how tall the ceiling was and was looking for the choir. The music was so wonderful that I sat down on a bench that was in a corner next to the outer wall. Three women sat next to me. I was lost in the wonder of the room until I realized that they were the choir! God knows no country..all are one under Him. It is nice to experience it. The monks were about their business but so welcoming.
