“Good location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2012

The room was in the newer part and there is not an elevator. The room is good, the included breakfast was decent. The location is close to the train station / bus station and also the centre of town,

These old leftovers just don't cut it. They are geared still to the basic 'Soviet' traveler. Need little. Get little. Food is terrible. Rooms boring but they do get cleaned just do not ask to get any laundry done! Russia is sending their hotel people to Turkey to obtain hands on expertise that is sorely needed but they are trying. It will take another generation. As to actually customer service well that could be deemed 'wishful thinking."

We found this hotel in Lonely Planet, but the price was almost the double. We could park the car in the backyard of the hotel for a small charge (there was a guardman all the time). The hotel was big, with historical pictures hanging on the walls of the long corridors and a floor lady on each floor (she was only present during the day). Our room was ok, old style, but renewed and clean. Staff at the reception did not speak English and were average-interested in the guests. Waitresses at breakfast were not interested at all. They were bored and not very helpful even though they worked in a wonderfully decorated and big breakfast/dining room. The hotel lies in the city center, close to the train station and the Assumption Cathedral built in about 1160.

Room Tip: Those facing to the main street.

A very typical Russian hotel with grumpy front desk staff, totally boring rooms and breakfast. Acceptable to sleep but you will miss your own home. Very overpriced for what you get.

All the other positive reviews say it all. Clean, professional, friendly, spacious enough, center of town. You can walk straight up the street from the train/bus stations 2 blocks (lots of stairs if carrying luggage), then turn left on the main street and it's about 3 blocks or so from there. A short, inexpensive taxi ride would work as well, easily flagged from the bus/train station. The easy walk to the bus station made seeing Suzdal, Bogolyubovo easy to get to.
