A soon as you walk through the door of this compact coffee shop you know you are in for a treat. WIth four or five varieties of home made scones and excellent Coffee and tea, husband and wife team Chris and Amanda, have made this the best coffee shop in the town.
My Wife and I make this our first port of call on a Saturday morning before gong shop, something we have being doing more or less since the Brown Bean opened and would not think of changing.
The staff, either B or Christine, just arrive at your table with the your coffee and tea and two lovely freshly made scones and on many occasion, still warm. Everyone has time to chat and that includes the customers who are all firm regulars.
Want a sandwich then look no further because Amanda has put together a superb variety to choose from whether it is just a lunchtime snack or more formal for meetings, party's, or whatever occasion, the girls will prepare freshly made sandwiches, on platers, to take away. Chris, does all the deliveries, of home made wheaten bread, scones etc to other business's over a wide spread area but they still are the best coffee shop in town

Friendly, friendly, friendly...and the food's great too. A compact cafe where you always get a friendly smile and a lovely coffee. The scones are unrivalled and you should purchase some wheaten bread to enjoy when you get home.

On the prowl for breakfast I entered the Brown Bean café: it is cross between a sandwich takeaway bar and a café. At first I was tempted by freshly baked scones but they had almost sold out of these apart from the "Mars or Bounty Bar" ones. I demurred. Settling instead for the Panni Breakfast. I was presented with a cross between a pizza and a fried Irish. Tasty to eat but repulsive to look at. Cost £5 and it fill me for the day. Staff friendly.
