We were in salema for a couple of days and since we already tried the other restaurants near the beach we decided to go there. We didn't expect to much but we where very surprised by the excellent food. The service was very good as well. Give it a try!

I love this restaurant, and have come back here time and time again... its great for lunch time, sitting by the sea, nibbling on starters and drinking ice cold indian beer, just watching the world go by, and the kids playing in the surf.... whilst the evening atmosphere is magical.... seeing the moon rise over the gently shushing surf, watching that magical silvery whisper of thread-like slithers of moon light, as we ate some of the best indian good I have ever eaten....

you just must go here and eat your way through the menu..... it can't be bettered in this part of the world....

thank you everyone.....

This has got to be one of the best Indian restaurants we have ever been to. The food was delicious and the location on the beach front was the perfect setting. The owners of the restaurant were absolutely charming and very accommodating when choosing the spiciness of the curry. Ruby, the waiter, was a delight and always smiling. We would highly recommend a curry in this restaurant to anyone visiting Salema. Well worth a visit.
PS Don't forget to order the naan bread - it was the best!

Why would you go for a curry in the Western Algarve in the middle of summer? Sometimes you need a little spice and this little restaurant on the beach front in Salema is just the job. You can choose how spicy you want the dishes to be cooked. So if you fancy a Korma but it is a little too mild for your liking, spice it up, have it medium or hot. I love the Rogan Josh (hot plus). One of our friends had the Tikki Massala but not happy with colour or the flavour but apart from that other dishes are all good

We ate here 3 times during in our two week stay in Salema and were really impressed with every meal that we had. We are from the West Midlands, where there is a curry house on every corner, so we are well qualified to identify the good from the bad and the food at Haveli is excellent. Fresh and flagrant, you can decide how hot you would like your dish - we opted for medium hot which was just right for us - a bit of a kick, but not enough to bring on the sweats! We ate a variety of dishes - my husband always chose the veg samosas which were excellent, my favourite starter was the fish pakora, but everything we tried was tasty. The main dishes were cooked beautifully, we mainly go for chicken which was always cooked well. I had a lamb dish on the last visit, which was very tender, again cooked beautifully.

All the staff were lovely - friendly and very attentive, but not in an obtrusive way. We were treated to shots on the house at the end of our meal - the hazelnut one was sweet and tasted like battenburg cake . The traditional Portuguese shot was strong and certainly put a fire in your belly!!

A fantastic restaurant, with a lovely view of the sea. I would definitely come back to Salema just to eat here.
