In summer 2013 we visited 9 campsites in Norway (and many more in 2008, 2009 en 2010).
This camping, Nissegarden in Lom, is the worst of them all.
It is more a sort of (simple!) attractionpark, with a campsite next to it.
The only goal of the campingowners (well, attractionparkowners) is your money. It is NOT guestfriendly !
We asked if our children could just do the climbing park. No, not possible. You have to buy the whole package. Cost: 240 NOK ! That's 30 euro's per child ! Well, not in 30 years !
Yes, you can just do the (little) swimmingpool, but if you choose that, you are 'punished'. Why...? Well, because they charge you with 90 NOK per person for a little pool of about 6 x 12 metres !
Yes, 90 NOK ! That's because they want you (almost force you) to buy the whole package of course. Well, we are good, but not crazy.
Then the sanitary building. The sinks ONLY have (ice)cold water. The knobs of warm water are removed ! Yeah, you can turn the little copper end, but no water is coming out (of course).....
Solution ? Of course, PAY 10 NOK for 4 minutes of warm water. You find the sinks with warm water in the showerrooms. So, if you just want to wash your face and neck (and maybe your hair), you occupy a showerroom in which you find a sink at 10 NOK per 4 minutes.....
NEVER had that before on the - about - 25 campsites we visited in whole Norway.
Guestfriendly ? No, not at all !
Furthermore the campingpitches are not all flat and not mowed. And furthermore not a cosy, nice place. We stayed one night and moved on the next morning...
You better can choose for Gjeilo camping.
