Le Ferme du Petit Segries is a dream, really. Surrounded by green and bloomy fields, in the real peace of Verdon, it's a perfect place to take some rest from the everyday crazyness. We were a group of 3 friends and took a room in the "gite" which is a large apartment with common facilities (kitchen, toilet, dining room) at ground floor, with direct access to the garden. The gite has 4 rooms and you can also take the entire apartment if you are a big group. Upstairs there are also rooms with private bathroom.
Silvye and Noel are wonderful hosts, they really take care of their guests, it's like staying in a big family.
What I really loved is the possibility to have dinner and breakfast in a big cozy dining room where a big table allow to eat all together, with the other guests and share experiences and emotions.
The dinner and breakfast were superb, Silvye is a great cook. Dinner was composed by a veggie soup with croutons (covered by a yummie saffron-garlic sauce), a domestic fowl with potatoes and a chocolate tasty cake. Wine is included (and good!).
Breakfast is faboulous, with hand made jams, lavand honey, bread, coffee, organic teas, fresh juices...
Location is few minutes driving from Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, a nice typical village, which is the gate for the Gorge du Verdon.
So, please, visit this wonderful place and enjoy!!

We stayed two nights at La Ferme du Petit Segries this April and had a wonderful time. We highly recommend this gite, that is also a working sheep farm. Sylvie and Noel are great hosts, the accommodations are nice (free wifi), the outdoor space offers a lovely spot to sit and read in the afternoon, and Sylvie is a great cook. We enjoyed meeting and interacting with the other guests at breakfast and dinner. Speaking of dinner, you would be foolish to stay at this gite without also taking the"guestable" rate, which includes dinner. As someone who travels on his stomach, I can vouch that the food, thanks to Sylvie, was fabulous, the wine good, and the company always interesting. All this at one-half to one-third the cost of a similar dinner at a good restaurant.

We very much enjoyed our two nights at the farm. The hosts, Sylvie and Noel, are genuinely welcoming people who have built this B&B with their own hands. With understandable pride they offer a very comfortable and home-like experience for their guests--and they did treat us as guests and not customers The delicious breakfasts and shared dinners included much that was produced on the farm, including jams, ice creams (the thyme-flavored ice cream was surprisingly good), and even the verbena tea. Before dinner we enjoyed some local wine while chatting with some fellow guests in the cozy common room. Our own room was VERY spacious and clean. The immaculate bathroom was the largest we found during our two weeks in France. The hosts provided us with valuable information regarding the jewel-like village nearby, Moustiers, and the spectacular Gorge du Verdon. La Ferme du Petit Segries is a great base for touring this ruggedly beautiful area.

We had one night with Noel & Sylvie and adored it. The peaceful terrace to take in the sunset was a lovely way to start and the food and company superb for our table d'hote. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I would echo much of what other travelers have put. Highlights for me were the fresh, farm sourced produce; the hospitality of Noel & Sylvie and their tolerance of my French! We also had a trip in a canoe up the Verdon Gorge in brilliant sunshine with not another soul around.

Slivy and Noel are amazing hosts.
The place is charming and we were welcomed with great hospitality.
The shared dinners were delicious and a very nice idea. The breakfasts, as well, were really good.
Both helped us immensly in planning our trip, thanks to their great knowledge and tips.
Our only note of improvment is adding a kettle to the room.
In conclusion, we highly recommend La Ferme du Petit Segries for it's combination of terrific hosts and fair price.

Dear Yosi,
I want to thank you very much for your nice review and also for your feedback.
We have never been asked for a kettle but listening to your feed-back and looking for improvment every year, we put an electric kettle in the corridor of the rooms with instant coffee, choice of teas and herbal teas, cream; and realized our guests really enjoy it.
Thank you again for this nice idea
Sylvie

Travellers who search out places like this to stay will be richly rewarded. You are a guest in someone's home - in this case on Noel & Sylvie's farm - and it is a very different experience to staying in a hotel.

Five nights a week during the season Sylvie cooks a four course meal, which she and Noel share with all their guests around the large farmhouse table. It is a meeting place for travellers from all around the world who have chosen to spend some time in this beautiful corner of France. Noel and Sylvie both speak good English and are very good at making sure that everyone feels included, inspite of language differences. Personal touches - each guest has their own napkin which they keep in a little basket with the name of their room on it.

Chambres d'hotes which offer evening meals like this are becoming increasingly rare (probably because it requires such a lot of work!) - they are to be appreciated and treasured. The only downside - it's not so easy to have an early night as everyone tends to stay around the table drinking and chatting - if you leave the table early you may feel you're missing out!

The rooms are large, bright and fresh, with bathrooms to match. (Tip: "Lou Luberon" has a bath with hand held shower. I think other rooms have shower cubicles - check when you book if it's important to you). Simple country charm, decorated with an artistic flair. Don't expect air conditioning - open the windows! However, there is wifi!

Breakfast is simple, with the highlight undoubtedly being the splendid choice of delicious homemade jams, plus local heather honey. The local red wine served with dinner was particularly good.

It is a stunningly beautiful part of France. We enjoyed: hiking "le Sentier des Pecheurs"; hiring a pedalo (or electric boat or canoe) for two hours first thing in the morning - opens at 09:30 - the morning sun falls in the gorge and you'll have the place to yourselves as you go up the river into the gorge; following the footpath that runs around behind Moustiers through olive groves and a mass of wild flowers in early summer.

Merci Noel et Sylvie - keep up the good work - nous reviendrons!

If you are looking for a good place to stay to go hiking or cycling or any other activity in the vicinity of Verdon there is no better place than this. You'll be very pleased with big, clean and beautifully decorated rooms with big beds and bathroom. Excellent view on the surrounding fields and mountains will help you feel the farm mood.
Also I recommend paying for a guesttable. Sylvie (one of the farmer owners) makes a delicious meals and you'll be pleased to have an interesting chat with other guests and owners throughout the evening.
Noel (Sylvies husband) will help you with trails and guidance if you are not familiar with the place.
And if it is not enough you are free to go around the farm and pat cute sheeps, donkey or dog;-)

Room Tip: The best room is the one we stayed in called "Luberon", it has a beautiful roses outlining...
