“Loved this place!”
Reviewed June 18, 2008

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in October of 2007. I was really concerned about my choice because there weren't a lot of reviews. We were both pleasantly surprised. Our room was on the ground floor with French doors that opened onto a private patio with a wonderful view of the olive trees. The room was small, but other than that I have no complaints. The linens were very nice, the towels in the bathroom were very plush. The bathroom was beautiful, the only thing it lacked was a bathtub, but the shower was great. The room had a small refrigerator that we used for things we picked up at the various markets and then ate on our beautiful patio. The setting was perfect.

The hotel has a HUGE dog. I am not a dog-lover at all, but you couldn't resist this guy. Very friendly and petable. Easily the largest dog I have ever seen!

We ate twice in the restaurant. The first night we did the prix fix menu and it was very good but probably a bit overpriced. The next time we ordered ala carte and really enjoyed it. There are not a lot of restaurants in Graveson, although we found a good hole-in-the-wall pizza place with wonderful owners and we went twice for take-out. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, be sure to let them know in advance if you are not planning on eating in the morning. We prefer stopping at a boulangerie and grabbing a roll and coffee.

The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Provence. It was just a few minutes drive to San Remy; I wanted to be close so we could arrive at the Wednesday market early. This was our favorite market; we went to several, this being the first, and definitely the best - small enough to walk the entire market yet varied enough that there was lots to see. We also drove to Aix, Le Baux, Avignon - the hotel was very centrally located.

The pool had closed the day before we got there which was fine because the weather was really only warm enough for swimming one day, but we could see the pool grounds and they were lovely.

The memory of sitting in bed looking out over the olive trees was one I think of often, it couldn't have been more beautiful. The staff was friendly and accomodating. I highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed at the Moulin d'Aure in Graveson for 5 nights with half board (pre-booked). The location is good, the olive grove in front of the rose-bordered terraces lovely. The room was small but adequate, with a very good bathroom. The pool is super. The restaurant was disappointing with inconsistently mediocre food with very little choice. The evening menu at 40 Euros was definitely overpriced. Service in the restaurant was unprofessional , slow and sometimes rude.

We were biking in Provence and spent two nices at the du Molin d'Aure and loved it. The restaurant served excellent food and its atmosphere near the pool and orchard was simply wonderful. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was one of the most modern of any hotel we've ever stayed in. Breakfast was first class. Service was great. Would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed in hotel du moulin d'aure from 6 till 17th August 2006. We are two friends from Belgium. We booked this hotel because it seemed very nice and it was more than that ! We stayed in room number 1, a double bedroom with terrace. Very clean and spacious; a beautiful terrace; and extremely quiet during the day and also at night. The receptionist was very friendly. Breakfast was delicious. At night we ate à la carte. Dinner was exceptional ! Menu between 15 and 30 EURO. The best meal we had in France, without a doubt. Breakfast was served outside, with view on the olive garden. Dinner was at the swimming pool, outside, very nice ! The "maitre hotel" was funny; very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anywone who looks for, quietness; friendlyness and very good food. Simply the best !

We have mixed feelings about our three night stay at the Moulin. This is a child-friendly hotel and anyone wishing to stay in early July should be aware that because the hotel has a great pool it attracts families of all nationalities. The setting is charming, although I agree the road noise from behind the hotel can be somewhat distracting.at times but our room, in the main building, was unaffected.
The breakfasts were OK but disappointingly unimaginative.
We didn't try the restaurant so can't comment but ventured into St. Remy where there's greater choice.
A well run hotel and a useful alternative to staying in St. Remy.

We stayed in room 20 (mini suite) located in the farmhouse over the easter weekend. Very nice Italian family run the hotel with plenty of space, swimming pool, olive groves and a "reasonable" price for Provence. This room gives enough space and direct access to the garden to travel with a dog or baby. The restaurant is also located close to the room (no problem with noise) and lets you have some time alone while being able to pop into the room if necessary.

This is a lovely small hotel outside of St Remy (a short drive). Beautiful, large, peaceful room and large bathroom (with jacuzzi bathtub). Impeccably clean. Nice swimming pool where many guests seemed to lounge all day. Fabulous breakfast and dinner (best meal in France that we had). Rooms very affordable! You may want to spend a bit more for a room facing the small olive grove (where you can have your breakfast on the terrace); there was some noise from a road behind the hotel. Perhaps there are many such hotels in Provence, but we felt lucky to have found this one.
