My husband and I finally made it back to the inn. We stayed in the Champagne Cottage. It was everything we’d hoped for and more. It was a quaint and romantic setting. We stayed two nights, and enjoyed wine, chocolate truffles (provided by the inn), a lovely view, fireflies, and even deer wandering below. Staying two nights allowed us more time to enjoy the wineries at leisure. We enjoyed evening strolls on the river front. We ate at the Mill Steakhouse (opened recently) one evening, and enjoyed our meal thoroughly. My husband ordered the rib-eye and I ordered the surf and turf. We ventured down to the inn on the first morning to enjoy breakfast. The service was pleasant and we enjoyed our baked apple pancake. The second morning, we ate on our terrace. We enjoyed a spinach and tomato quiche. It was delicious! We returned to the Tin Mill Brewery, and canned our favorite beer to take home. That was a fun process to watch. We didn’t have time for the new Hermannhof farm tour, nor did we make it to the distillery. Those are next on our list. When we checked out, we asked to see the rooms upstairs at the inn. They were very nice. We’re hoping to gather friends to stay at the inn on our next trip back. We loved our 2nd stay at the inn, and not agree we need to do this more often.
