Owner description: Adam Puchta Winery, located off Hwy. 100 on the banks of Frene Creek about 2.5 miles southwest of Hermann, is the oldest family farm winery in Missouri. Its true uniqueness, however, lies in the fact that the same family has continuously owned it since 1855. We are a true farm winery with a peaceful, laidback setting. Many cats live here, and the property has picnic tables on a lovely shaded hillside so you can sit, visit and relax.Tastings are done in a cool old barn where we pair wine with food for a truly enhanced experience.

“Great wine, staff friendliness is 50/50 shot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2013

We've been visiting this winery for almost ten years. Their wine (especially their port) is wonderful, and they do a great job of pairing up different crackers to enhance the wine flavors. The last three years we were uncomfortable while there, because one of the women who worked there was hostile to the other staff. It was really awkward. So we were really glad this year when it was different staff - we had a great time again, like we used to. They started a tasting fee a few years ago - $3 I think.

“Great winery, staff very entertaining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

$3 fee to get in but the wine was great. The wine tasting was the best I've had. They paired food with their wines to let you see just how much their wine can be accented with food. GREAT EXPERIENCE. They also sold wine by the glass, kettle corn and other bar & grill food within the sitting area.

“Consistently good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013 via mobile

Another good visit to Adam Puchta. Great wine as always. View is the thing that detracts the most from the experience. Still views of the plastic snow fence and port-a-potties. :-(

Wine tasting was changed this year- entry fee of $3 per person is charged when coming in which covers the tasting.

Wine prices are a little more than you'd typically find at your local HyVee.

Great wine, paired with excellent food choices for tasting. Beautiful out-of-the way setting. Whatever type of wine you prefer, Adam Puchta Winery will have something for you. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable staff. The gift store has great merchandise. Fun place for wine lovers.
