“Romantic weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2010

My husband and I planned a reconnect weekend at Alpenhorn Gasthaus. We had a fabulous time. Kate and Adrian were amazing hosts. Kate made homemade cookies for our arrival - lemon frosted and chocolate chip cookies. We stayed in the Queens room and loved it. It was clean and inviting. We debated about rather to make advanced reservations for dinner at the Alpenhorn Gasthaus or eat in town. We went with dinner at the B&B - it was the best choice. Kate made us dinner which was handsdown the best meal we have had in some time. Dessert was served in the 1860's wine cellar. It romantic and charming that capped a wonderful night. We highly recommend staying and eating at the Alpenhorn Gasthaus. Loved it! Thanks Kate and Adrian!

My husband and I stayed at this Bed and Breakfast on our trip back from Mackinac Island. Very rustic B&B. Very clean and spacious! We stayed in the King Room. Lots of space! We enjoyed a wine and chocolate event in the wine cellar. The chocolates were the best, made by the owners of the B&B. Breakfast was the best! One thing I love about Bed and Breakfasts is their unique breakfasts and this one did not disappoint us!!!

We could not have been more pleased with our accommodations at Alpenhorn Gasthaus. Adrian and Kate were fantastic hosts, and the food was the best we had throughout the entire weekend. We opted for dinner prepared by them one evening, and it was a GREAT treat...well worth the money. Both breakfasts were wonderful and it was fun meeting others at the B&B during our morning meal. The homemade cookies available for snacking were an added plus. Our room (Queens room) was very quiet, clean and offered a separate sitting area that was especially nice. We would welcome the opportunity to return sometime.

Kate and Adrian are wonderful, fun, knowledgeable, hosts of Alpenhorn Gasthaus, located in a beautiful setting just outside the quaint, resort town of Hermann, Missouri. My partner and I were planning on a day of biking the Katy Trail just across the Missouri River from Hermann. We were given wonderful accommodations in the Queen Room which overlooked the back courtyard, sheep yard and in the sitting room overlooked a beautiful field which gave us a spectacular sunset. That evening we toured the wine cellar which is an event in itself and another reason to stay in this beautifully maintained historic home. That evening we dined in at the Alpenhorn dining room and were treated to a gourmet 4 course meal that was a treat to savor. In the morning, Adrian and Kate served a breakfast which was delightfully appealing and incredibly appetizing. Adrian and Kate were full of good advice for our endeavor, kind in every way, and made us wanting to return for another stay.

My husband and I stayed at Alpenhorn this past weekend for our anniversary. It was absolubely perfect! Adrian and Kate were so attentive to every detail, making it the relaxing, romantic, and peaceful weekend we were hoping for. The setting is gorgeous and calming and the food is indescribable. The breakfasts' are creative and delicious. While the four-course dinner (really it's 5) is an optional addition, we think it's a must. Kate's food is some of the best we've ever had and the ambiance they create is perfect. They top off the dinner with dessert in their private wine cellar. We can't wait to head back. With so many B&Bs in Hermann, we feel like we struck gold!

My husband and I stayed at the Alpenhorn Gasthaus for our 10 year anniversary. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before so we weren't sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the King room which was spacious, clean and very homey. The grounds were lovely. We made friends with all the animals on the property, which includes three sheep, three cats, and lots of chickens. We even got to pet the sheep! Adrian and Kate are awesome hosts and made us feel right at home. Adrian hosted the Chocolate and Wine Rendezvous in the wine cellar. It was a very unique and romantic experience that I recommend to any couple. Kate's breakfast was delicious! It was fun trying all her recipes. We were definitely spoiled! Since this our first stay at a B&B I have nothing to compare it to but I can tell you I don't have a single negative thing to say about this place and know that we will definitely be back!!!

Sweeping thunderstorms didn't dampen our weekend as we relaxed in our own "little house" at the Alpenhorn Gasthaus. The hot tub, winetasting and chocolates by candlelight in the winecellar, our unbelievable dinner, breakfasts that you can't find anywhere else and great hosts. Kate and Adrian have thought of everything! This was the most relaxing weekend we've ever had. For those of you who are new to B&B's, you'll be spoiled by your stay at Alpenhorn Gasthaus. For anyone who is a seasoned B&B traveler, you'll be hard-pressed to find anything that comes close to your experience here.
