A friend and I checked this brewery out while our wives shopped. They had a great selection of beer on tap and attentive bar staff. You can also purchase cans of a few of there beers. I would come back again for a beer.

We had lunch on Saturday with out of town guests. Some of my favorite meals had been at the Tin Mill in the past but now one of my least favorite meals was also there. The meal was served in a disjointed manner and the food was disappointing. For the restaurant to consider it's self vegan friendly is inaccurate. I used to love their bean burger and sweet potato fries but that has been removed as a choice. I was embarrassed for my guests to have had lunch there and they paid which makes it even worse.

Three couples recently visited the Tin Mill for lunch. Though the food was OK, the service was terrible! Half the food arrived 20 minutes after the first half (including two bowls of the same soup arriving twenty minutes apart), coffee ordered was never delivered, requested condiments never delivered, a salad arrived after everyone was finished eating, etc. We were not sure whether the kitchen or server or both were completely disorganized. We were patient, but no real apology or explanation was given. We have had previous good experiences there, so we assume this was an unusual situation. However, this was likely our last visit especially since there are other nice restaurants in Hermann.

We went to Hermann on the train from St. Louis for the day. It was a Monday during Octoberfest, so we thought most places would be open. Many were, but we heard many times, "this is Octoberfest and we were really busy over the weekend, so we are out of (fill in the blank). Tim Mill has a sign in front of the restaurant "Monday Special - Prime Rib". We decided early in the day we would have dinner there before our train departure. When we went in the atmosphere was very Bar/Pub-type in one half - older, wood-paneled, restaurant in the other half. The bar side was very, very loud. Now it was Cardinal's playoff, so we understood the reason for the noise, but the design was very poor for a restaurant charging such prices. The menu had Prime Rib (queen cut $26, king $36). Naturally, we assumed by the sign that there was something special about Monday. No - they were offering it all month during October. They just keep the sign up all year. We ordered the prime rib and there was nothing prime about it. The flavor was flat and several of us did not receive as we ordered - way too done. The waitress was nice enough, but not knowledgeable and had to ask someone else the answer to most of our questions. This took a long time. We asked for horseradish sauce - again, she was gone for quite a while and finally returned saying, "we are out of it." Then, when we were almost finished eating the chef came to our table with a dish of horseradish sauce! He said, "We were so busy over the weekend, but I just made some up for you." Too late.
Also, they only serve Hermanhoff and Dierberg wines - I understand they are the owners, so that makes sense, but, again - the prices are way too high and do not coincide with the atmosphere and wine selection.
We won't be going back .
