Description: Built in 1878, the Concert Hall and Barrel is the oldest continually operating tavern west of the Mississippi. Today we proudly continue a time-honored tradition of good food and good times in Hermann, Missouri. Wednesday through Sunday, we serve lunch and dinner, featuring German specialties year-round. Our menu includes a wide selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, steaks, pizzas and seafood. Our sports bar is a place where customers can eat, drink and socialize while watching the latest televised sports events on our numerous television screens. We have four big TV screens, and when the patio is open we add another! We serve a wide selection of local wines, craft beers, spirits and signature drinks. As in days of old, the spacious second-floor Concert Hall can accommodate a large group for rehearsal dinners, anniversary parties, birthday parties, business meetings, and fundraisers. A private banquet room on the first floor may be reserved for smaller occasions. Located in historic downtown Hermann, Missouri, it's just a short walk from the Amtrak station, making it a great first or last stop in town.

“Pretty darn good”
Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

We had a big group during Oktoberfest and they were able to sit us when we had our reservations. The food was quite excellent. the hot wings were amazing, best I've had in awhile. my schnitzel was really good. My wife pizza came late because they forgot it, which I can forgive because they were very busy that night. Someone else had the nachos which were really good. Someone had the pretzels and it came out cold but they replaced it. Wasn't expecting much but pleasantly surprised.

“Beautiful old bar with good atmosphere.”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

As has been said in other reviews, Hermann pretty well shuts down by 6pm. I don't know why. We have a great time during the day bike riding and going to wineries. Then, pooof! Everything is closed. There are only a couple places open of an evening. We went in on Sept. 23 about 5p and had a tap beer that was made locally. Loved the wheat flavored one. Beautiful bar to enjoy. They have a real nice area to eat in bar or go into next room (I think it is non-smoking in the big room). We went in on Sept 24 and sat on the bar side and had a nice little salad and a large pizza. The pizza was good. It was nice and thin, and it had good flavor. Service was excellent. It is a quaint place to spend some time and people watch. They have a large selection of beer, local wine, and all kinds of drinks. I am happy it is open to serve food until 9pm. That is precious in Hermann. Don't know why no wineries do not stay open at night. The prices in this restaurant are average. You will enjoy an evening here.

“Service problems, excellent food!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

The food at this bar it fantastic! Very good and reasonably priced. There are not many areas to eat after 7 pm and this place hits the spot! We had problems with service...a little slow, but we were not in hurry so it was not a problem. The food was worth the wait. Missouri still allows smoking in their resturants, so if you are used to non smoking facilities.. be prepared.

“Such a shame for a small local place!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

Good was nothing to go back for. We had 4 people and each person got a different selection. Only 1 person cared for his choice. Fried chicken special served cold chicken and thick nasty mashed potatoes. Another had the prime rib sandwich which came in a hamburger bun, not a French roll. Also requested cheese for sandwich, which they forgot then brought out a small bowl of shredded provel to add to sandwich ??? Weird. The chicken salad sandwich had 1 and I do mean 1 grape in it and not 1 cranberry as described by waitress. Frozen lemonade alcohol drink is really good but the strawberry is way too sweet! I won't eat here again.
