We visited Hermann Farm during this year's Christkindl Market in town. This site opened in 2016 and has been busy restoring and reconstructing historic buildings on the 200 acre property. We purchased the $18 per person tour on faith and were not disappointed. We got a private driving/walking tour of the property and saw a family cemetery and the restored mansion and outbuildings of the Husmann family who helped to pioneer Hermann's wine industry. The site is also raising and training Black Shire draft horses. We were invited to try out a carriage ride pulled by these magnificent animals! Farther into the property they have recreated a beautiful log cabin from the 1850's which was decorated for Christmas. The farm has been busy adding buildings that can serve as wedding venues and also a distillery. There is so much to see here.

We've been to Hermann several times and this is now my favorite place to visit. The farm is now closed for the winter but will reopen in May. Highly recommend.
