“Getting to Know Mark Twain”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

I have lived in MO for most of my life and thought I knew a lot about this man but when visiting his boyhood home and the information center there I learned that I knew very little. To stand in the same rooms where he lived as a boy was wonderful. There is so much information about Samuel Clemons, his family and friends when he was young. I would return again when I had more time to spend. This would be a great place to take your children who have read the "Adventures of" books.

“Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum is first class”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

This museum is just fantastic. The manner in which the museum is structured and displayed is just remarkable. Attention to detail is prominent throughout and the way the components flow allows one to leisurely follow the life, history, exploits, and grandeur of the remarkable life and history of Mark Twain. This is a destination that was just fabulous.

“A must for fans of American literature”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

Who wouldn't want to walk amongst the inspiration for Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn? Great preservation of the entire area, even a picket fence you can "white wash". Whats even better is having a towboat go by, laying on its horn, harking back to the riverboat days of Twain's life.

It is easy to imagine the little Hannibal that Sam Clemens grew up in! Thanks for visiting!

“Nice to see his boyhood home”

We like history and just being in the home where Mark Twain grew up was exciting. The stories of his childhood antics were also great fun.

“Mark Twain house was interesting.”

The rest of the houses that you pay to see was disappointing as some were not open and some were not done yet.

Thanks for visiting! Yes, one of the struggles of maintaining historic properties is that restoration takes time and money. The process never ends, but we try to provide visitors with plenty to see!
