This is a nice hotel outside the city. The staff is friendly and efficient and the room was clean, however I think the ambiance is more suited to elderly travelers. Dated style and decor will not appeal to younger guests.

My husband and I recently stayed here for almost a week on business and to be honest, I didn't want to come home! The staff was great from the front desk to the maids, Jasmine and Kenya to the maintenance man painting the baseboards. Very busy hotel but we were never disturbed or rushed. Fabulous executive lounge and awesome beds and pillows! One little teensie issue...no microwave and you have to order a fridge. But overall...great stay at a wonderful comfy hotel. BTW...right across the street from Macy's, Saks, and many other great stores. Would rate this hotel 4.5 outta 5!!!

Room Tip: Great hotel, great location, great staff, and very clean!

Checking in as a Diamond was handled as normal. Upgraded to suite but the suite was in the secondary building not the main hotel...where the executive lounge is located. The room was laid out like an Embassy Suite with basic living dining, then bathroom with was was too small, then the bedroom. Beddroom was clean, bathroom was not. Bathroom had the pink stuff in the corners of the tub/shower enclosure and on shower head. The shower head was caked in sediment and I had to wipe it down to get water to come out at a decent flow.

Parking is at a premium, especially when the hotel is holding events. If the room rate was only $100 and the name was Hampton Inn, I'd rate it higher. I paid $170 as a base rate and the name is Hilton, I expected better.

This is one of the toughest reviews I have written. I had a very mixed impression of this particular property. On the surface, it is an elegant hotel with sweeping stair cases in the lobby and beautiful appointments throughout. That is if you don't look too closely. The outside is also very nicely decorated as well. This is an older property and would probably benefit from a face lift.

The staff were all well dressed and very friendly. The property was kept very clean and the landscaping well cared for. The reason this is one of the toughest reviews I have written stem largely from comments I overheard and statements from fellow attendees at the conference I was here to attend.

When passing the hotel restaurant just off the lobby, one patron who was exiting the restaurant warned two people just going in they should find somewhere else to eat as it took over 45 minutes for their order to be served. This was at 2:00 PM. Not a busy time of day. A comment from another person was that the bar and grill appeared to have been converted from one of the hotel suites and did not reflect the decor and atmosphere of the rest of the place.

In fairness, the food served during our conference was plentiful and very tasty. It was all elegantly presented and the staff kept the serving area clean and well stocked. The wireless internet that was decent quality and offered reasonable bandwidth.

The comment that became the title of this review came from a fellow conference attendee. If you are interested in a superficially elegant place for an event and you don't mind fairly conventional accommodations at a slightly higher price you might enjoy this hotel. I personally would find a less expensive alternative that offered more updated facilities. There are quite a few in this area.

We stayed one night and enjoyed the hotel very much. We appreciated the upgrade. The hotel is older and has a bit of an old world feel. The staff were very kind. The location is great as there is an amazing mall and lots of restaurants nearby.

As out of towners, we had limited time and opportunity to scout out a hotel that would be hospitable and easy for our guests to our son's wedding. We were delighted to have found the Frontenac. I worked with Bobbie in guest services to offer rooms to wedding guests - they took care of everything from printing personalized hotel inserts, to arranging a shuttle to the reception, to storing flowers in their floral cooler. The rooms are gorgeous, huge, and on the executive level have access to a lounge where our guests could enjoy breakfast, evening appetizers, cocktails, and dessert away from the public areas of the hotel - all included in the price of the room. The employees were knowledgeable and courteous. The hotel has the feel of a large, established downtown city hotel, but with easy access to I-64 and an upscale mall in the next block. A great experience.

Room Tip: The executive floor is worth the bit extra in price if you will be able to take advantage of their b...

I attended a conference here so the hotel selection was not my choice. Overall the venue just feels tired and rundown. The bed was comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was also clean, though showing age. The carpet and upholstered furniture were stained. The decor is really dated and the maze of buildings and corridors (with structural support in the middle of the hall?!) just screams for a rebuild, not renovation. Food provided for the conference meals was average at best - but that may have been what the organizers ordered? I did not eat at the restaurant. Rent a car! This place is in the suburbs so getting to any sights requires transportation! They have a couple vans that will take you somewhere is an 8 mile radius but that doesn't get you much further than the mall. They would not take me 10 miles to MoBot (highly recommend the botanical garden, btw) and the driver was really rude about it. Otherwise the service was helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: I stayed at Clayton building, maybe the others are in better condition? All seem to overlook a parki...
