Reviewed August 5, 2013

We rented cabins 2 & 4 and two rooms in the lodge. Cabins 2 really smelled bad and bathroom was not very clean and thw beda were old and worn. Cabin 4 had same problems. The grass around the grills was not trimed good and the bar has there trash can rigt out by the door so they had bad nats bad. We got there to check in at 3:30 and the lady that took care of check in was not there so they gave us a key and to come back and pay at 5 thank goodness we didn't pay cu as soon as we seen the cabins we gave them back there keys and went and stayed At riverside was much nicer.

My apologies. That would never happen today. You should come back and take a tour the next time you are in Eminence.

We recently went to Eminence, Mo with friends for a long weekend of relaxing water fun. They stayed at a campground in rv campers and we stayed at Aguila Lodge in a cabin. First I have to start by saying that the staff was courteous whenever we had request.

That being said, I would not stay here again. We checked in late on the day of arrival because we went floating before check in time. I was told when I called that the key would be in the cabin door when I got there - it wasn't.

The next day, while our friends were canoeing, my wife and I were recouping from an over abundance of sun from the previous day. We decided to go to the lounge at the lodge. There was a sign that said they were open from 2 pm to close (whenever that is). The time was 4 pm so we thought we were safe wrong! They were closed and we were told that they didn't open until 5pm but that they would open up if we wanted a drink. We decided to go downtown instead.

The last issue was the maid service for our cabin. The towels are supposed to be swapped out daily. However, by the 3rd day I had to go to the office to ask for fresh towels. I was told that they would be delivered to our cabin later... And they were.

It is not that the cabins were bad... But for the cost, I expected more. Again, the staff was very friendly, just not very organized.

I'm happy to say that we came under new management in 2014. Which includes new housekeeping staff. My apologies for your troubles. Thank you.

A group of 7 stayed here on a weekend in June to canoe the jacks fork river. The location is great because its right on the river and we were able to stop at the cabin halfway down our canoe trip and eat lunch. The rooms smelled pretty bad and the towels smelled even worse. The beds were old and worn out. We stayed in cabin 1 & 2 (which is actually one cabin split into a top and bottom floor plan). For the price it was ok but we will probably stay at the rivers edge cabin next time. These cabins were also on the river but were much nicer. If you do stay here, bring your own towels and sheets.

Well, a lot has changed since 2013, except this one thing, "we have THE BEST LOCATION on the Jack's Fork River." For the rest we have new beds, new sheets, new towels., new air conditioners, new paint, etc, etc, etc. Yes, things have changed for the better. Including the management and staff. We just continue to improve, season to season. I wish you'd come back and see for yourself. Oh, and if you do stay at some of the other places, you will have to bring your own towels and sheets,.......... because they don't provide them. Just a Heads Up. Be sure to ask. Thanks.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Eagle's Landing River Resort is located in the heart of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways in Eminence, MO. We have 14 hotel rooms built on a bluff directly over the Jack's Fork River. The walkways in front of all the rooms have a gorgeous river view. We also have 10 cabins, ranging from 2 person cabins to 10 person cabins. They are all well placed on the river with fantastic views and river access. All of our cabins are equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and a charcoal BBQ grill. There's also a 25 x 45 outdoor pavilion with picnic tables and BBQ grills for our hotel guests to use. One of the wildest and most scenic of the Missouri Ozark streams is the Jack's Fork. People come from all parts of the world to float this scenic beauty. Many use canoes and kayaks, but one of my more favorite ways to enjoy this gem is to use an old fashioned tire tube and just float along with the current. There are many excellent outfitters here in Eminence to rent equipment from. They'll come to your cabin or meet you in the hotel parking lot to pick you up, and bring you and the equipment upstream to get you launched. And if you've chosen a half day float, that'd be from Alley Spring to Eminence, when you're done, simply land on our gravel bar, pull your equipment up, and walk to your cabin or hotel room. There's nothing simpler. ... more   less
