Colin and I have just spent a wonderful few days at Yeranda in the cottage “ Kalimna”
There is lots of hot water and a good shower. The bed is very comfortable as are the lounge seats.
The kitchen is truly fully equipped, even to an apron, which is great for apron lovers like me. Books and jigsaw puzzles are even provided for your entertainment.
But, most of all we loved the quiet and solitude, listening to the sounds of the bush – birds singing and splashing in the bird bath, frogs, butterflies fluttering by and jenny wrens hopping around your feet. A couple of currawongs came along to check us out. A walk in the bush and seeing a kangaroo hopping by is worth heaps. But that is not all. In the quiet of the night the shine of a possums eyes as he sat on the veranda rail looking back at us inside.
Yes, a couple of times the peace was broken by the sound of an air force jet overhead. Was he on his way to Brisbane to pick up his lunch? We wonder, but it really didn’t spoil the ambience of Yerenda. This was our second visit, all be it 17 years since the first.
So, Kevin and Ros get a great big thanks from us.
