We usually stayed in the B&Bs in Rocheport wine country, so this was the first time we stayed in Columbia itself ... I think for now on, we'll stay at The Gathering Place! It was so centrally located to everything in Columbia and a much better value than Rocheport. The building was beautifully renovated - for February, it was very cozy and warm for an old building, and very contemporary with electronically coded locks and HD TVs in the rooms. Debbie was just wonderful as a hostess and the college students who serve breakfast were very professional and courteous. We liked that we could choose a la carte items for breakfast if we didn't prefer the special, which was different from most other B&Bs we'd been to. They had a single-serve coffee/tea maker available at all hours for guests, which was nice, but it would have been nice to have cookies or chocolate set out to munch on in the evening after dinner as well - I've seen this at most other B&Bs - but it certainly didn't make our stay any less enjoyable. They also brought in a DVD player at our request and were very accommodating in every way. I'd definitely recommend it!
