After reading reviews, I was looking forward to staying at the Ritz. When I arrived, I was not greeted by any of the valet or check in personnel. I'm not asking for them to kiss my butt or anything, but there was no welcome what so ever.

The location is very nice with a lot of restaurants & bars to enjoy. Highly recommend eating at J Bucks, which is about a block from the hotel.

The room is just your basic hotel room, which I thought would be a lot fancier. The Westin by Busch Stadium beats this hotel hands down. The good thing about this hotel is that it gives a federal government rate, which the Westin rarely does.

I personally will not stay here again or recommend it!!

Our stay at the Ritz was perfect. The room was clean and well appointed, the staff very friendly, and the pool relaxing. We are military and were shocked to find that the Ritz military rate was lower than many of the lower end chain hotels. We will definitely return to this hotel.

In St. Louis for a fun weekend with our 13 year old son & 8 year old daughter. Had visited same property 4 years ago, and was disappointed in the dated looking rooms. Now rooms have been renovated (all but two higher floors) and we were very pleased. Lady Gaga was staying at this hotel for a concert at the Scottrade Center, just saw her tour buses though...

The Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis provides a consistently high-quality experience. The rooms, food and service are all what one would expect from any Ritz-Carlton, so no need to elaborate on them. There are, however, a few unique features worth mentioning. The lobby bar is usually hopping, due to live music and other special events that help attract a number of locals. The separate cigar club(off the lobby) provides a refined and very pleasant setting for enjoying a cigar, drinks and food. It also attracts a number of locals, and has a very friendly vibe. Finally, the hotel sits in the very pleasant downtown of Clayton, and it is possible to walk to a number of excellent restaurants, bars and shops. All around, a wonderful place to stay.
