Fresh pasta made on the premises. Excellent quality but portions are rather small. Their gelato is a winner. No reservations, and even though this is quite a large restaurant,be prepared to wait for a table even early in the evening.

Because we were a large group, we went at 5pm . . . they do not take reservations. The menu is limited which means the food is fresh and good. Service was excellent and food arrived in a timely manner. Space is limited so the wait can be long!

4 stars might be a tad conservative for this very nice, industrial loft style restaurant. Would vote 4.5 now & might easily go to 5 when I visit a 2nd time. Entree was cacio a pepe, which is a meatless, heavily peppered pasta popular in Rome. Would easily have tried any of the pastas or the pizzas, all made right in front of me at the open pasta station/brick oven. Everything coming out looked very enticing. The Caesarish kale salad also hit the spot-great texture & flavor. Finished up w/ 2 scoops of gelato for the walk back to my hotel. Most seating appeared to be open at longish banquet tables, in addition to the pasta & regular bar. My primary server was just a tad absent, but the nearby kitchen & back staff regularly checked in & were quick to assist. Also cool decor. Can't wait to get back.

In town for a girl strip, we made the easy 5 minute walk here from the Ritz Carlton hotel. Great space, fun atmosphere, kind & sincere service. The 5 of us shared several dishes, all of which were a hit. The risotto ball appetizer we so good we ordered a second. Our favorites were the lasagna and the butternut squash pizza. Don't worry, they have cheese and pepperoni for the non-adventurous or the kiddos. Great bar with a wonderful variety, we tried two of the Italian themed drinks, both were scrumptious. Of course, head to end the night with gelato. When in "Rome", right? The goat cheese and salted caramel were phenomenal. Prices were fair, pizza is big enough for 2-3 depending on your appetite if that's all you're ordering.

I’ve heard and read a lot about this place and had to try it during a recent visit to St. Louis. The tables are fairly close together and it can get noisy inside. We went mid week for dinner and still had to wait around 20 minutes for a table. The restaurant doesn't accept reservations so go at an off time or be prepared to wait. They do offer parking in the lot next door which is convenient.

Rather than try one of their salads (as nothing stood out) we decided to share a pizza instead. The pizzas are cooked in a wood fire oven and they offer both your standard and some unusual toppings. The crust was thin and the pizza had the right combination of sauce, toppings and cheese.

Now to the Pasta. They make it in house and have a display area where you can see them making and drying the various options. The sauces were also very good. We tried the Stozzapreti (which is like a Bolognese) and boy was it good. You easily become a member of the clean plate club when you eat there. They also have gluten-free pasta too. Since we passed on the salad, we ordered a side of roasted broccoli and that too was excellent.
They have a decent bar area to help you pass the time along with a good wine list. I’ve also heard they have good gelato but we are going to have to sample that next time. I can’t wait to go back! Pastaria is a keeper.
