We had a casual post wedding celebration here and I cannot say enough about the staff and the inn. We had several people from out of town and all of them remarked on how great the food was and how nice the inn was. The general manager was wonderful to work with us helping us to plan our event. They even shut down the pub to the public so we could use it for our party. The food was great; there was a huge variety of choices. Also, the rooms were great. They had a nice comfy feel with huge beds and a nice historical feel. The hotel had a lot of nice amenities you find with a hotel but also had a great small inn kind of feeling. I cannot say enough about this inn. Not only will we be staying there again, we will also be recommending it to anyone from out of town. It is a great location- there are several great restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Convenient to Washington University. Clean, good size rooms but could use updating, great complimentary cookies, friendly staff. It is a minor point but I thought it unnecessarily cheap to supply just one bottle of water for the entire stay. Self parking is $17 per night but the rooms themselves are reasonably priced (but St Louis hotel taxes are abusive). Complimentary Continental breakfast is ok but nothing special.

Three story, charming inn close to Washington Univ in St Louis. We stayed for three nights when we moved our child into college--one night with him and two nights without him. The room is luxurious with two king beds and fabulous bedding. There are NO elevators in the building and we were on the third floor but this was fine for us. The staff is available to help with bags, etc. The inn has an elegant, charming feel and the amenities were wonderful. There is a lovely restaurant on site but not open for breakfast (there is a breakfast restaurant right across the street). Valet parking is free. The rates get quite high here during events like Family Weekend so we did not stay at that time but it was more reasonable in the summer. It was a lovely experience in a boutique, like hotel and I would recommend it and definitely stay here again. The staff was so helpful and the homemade cookies daily were a nice touch!

We were referred to this hotel by a friend who is originally from St. Louis and visits often. We were not disappointed. The hotel is intimate with friendly and accommodating staff. When we discovered that the hairdryer in the room did not work, a replacement arrived at our door within a minute of calling the front desk. The bed was comfortable with nice linens. We also appreciated the complimentary breakfast served in the lovely front room near the inn's entrance and the freshly baked cookies at the reception desk in the evening. However, we would have enjoyed it even more if there was also an urn of freshly brewed coffee or tea in the evening, though the small coffee maker in the room was adequate. We normally look for hotels that have a fitness facility onsite, but the inn gives complimentary passes to the city's very nice community center that has a large space with workout equipment. This is about a ten minute walk. Because the inn has so much charm, it also has the potential disadvantage of being the site of local weddings. On the Saturday night of our stay, there was a wedding party that took over the majority of the common spaces, which included the front room, the adjoining restaurant, the front hallway, and the patio. Though we could hear the music from our room, it did not completely overpower the sound of the television. Aside from the restaurant adjoining the inn (which we did not have a chance to try) there are plenty of nice restaurants in the area and the neighborhood is quite pleasant for walking around. We are definitely looking forward to our next stay at the Seven Gables Inn!
