So, i don't review a lot of local restaurants on purpose. and i usually wait until i've had at least 3 experiences prior to reviewing....so i hope Vito's doesn't disspoint me in the future...

this place was fantastic. we stumpled upon it a few weeks ago & just walked in on a fri night... almost a 2 hour wait & people were waiting!

went on a weeknight the following week & ended up sitting at the bar at a bar table (very nice & comfy bar height table & stools, and they reserve them....live music on weekends) and had fantastic appetizers & wine. the menu looked delish so we couldn't wait to come back on a weekend for a nice, relaxing dinner.

made it back this Sat night - called at 8pm to see if they had availability for 2...said to come at 9p..and we did...the place was hoppin!

we tried their mussels - OMG...best i've ever had....great sause of spicy tomoto's, onions, a light broth...not the typical garlic, or tomato cream sauce...was really different. i wish the provided some softer bread for dippng though

i had the penne ala vodka, made with applewood smoked bacon instead on pancetta. it was fab - but really really strong bacon - so i would rename this as bacon pasta as the bacon taste ovverrode the alla vodka sauce which is my fav. still really good though

he had the sicilian steak...perfect....but the whipped, pipped potatoes had something in them we (he is a chef) had a hard time identifing...but really really tasty

wrapped it up with the dessert special of the night...pear something or other made with chocolate - was vey tasty but could have had more chocolate. this was paired with choco covered bacon.....not sure why.

why is this getting a 5 star? because for once....the pasta wasn't over priced. $14 for penne ala volda, spag/meatballs was $15, the steak was $23.....the desserts were all about $5.

it's GREAT food, at a very reasonable price. we had: 1 app, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, 1 beer, 1 house red wine: total bill: $63 (can't beat that price!)

this will be our new Go To restaurant....we can't wait to make our way through the menu!

My and I had dinner at Vito's in the Valley Saturday evening after seeing Jersey Boys at the Fox. We had reservations for 5:30pm and were seated when we arrived at about 5:25pm. Since it was early, the restaurant was not very crowded but that began to change at about 6pm. By the time we left at around 6:45pm, the place was packed. All of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. My wife had a tossed salad and the salmon grigliato and I had a Caeser salad and the spiedini di carne. Both were very good. We have not been to the original Vito's; but would recommend the Chesterfield location.

We went to Vito's with friends on a Saturday nite and found a 1 1/2 hour wait for the restaurant. Fortunately, there was an open high top table in the bar area and we grabbed it. The Linguini Tuttu Mare was great with a light sauce and the bow tie pasta dishes were as well. We will be coming back soon to try the pizzas.

We had tried to get into Vito's last Saturday night and couldn't so I knew I had to go. Lunch seemed like a good bet, is we gave it a shot. Good choice! We had the express lunch, my wife had salad and pizza and I had bruschetta and spaghetti with marinara. The food was great. The pizza dough was obviously freshly made and perfectly baked. The cheese and meat were perfectly seasoned. Very nice. The bruschetta was excellent, the bread had a nice crunchy crust but the bread was soft which I prefer. The topping was fresh and nicely seasoned with a peppery bite to it. The spaghetti was perfectly prepared and the. ample marinara sauce was thick and spicy. The meal was excellent, quantities ample, and. pricing reasonable. The interior if the restaurant is stylishly understated. All in all, Vito's should be around for awhile!
