Dropped in late (9pm) on a Friday night, parking lot packed, band playing. There wasn't anyone IN the restaurant so the friendly hostess showed us out to the patio where the music was playing.
We had a lower patio table right on the water...very nice, moonlight on the water.
Simple menu with fresh new selections apart from the same old bar food that we ALWAYS get at the lake.
We enjoyed the grilled shrimp & the gourmet sliders like none we've had before. A traditional American, German bratwurst & Mexican with some chorizo & paperback.
Nothing fancy but different & done well.
My friend told me about the goat cheese salad & crab cakes with a spicy remoulade.
Service was friendly and speedy.
We'll be back.

This is a new place with terrific food. Prices are what you should expect for waterfront dining with a view. Excellent blue cheese burger and chicken alfredo. Service was good and fast, although it was not crowded when we were there; server was very nice. It could use some atmosphere inside, and it is chopped up as others have said; but that really does not matter to me. Outside is very nice. Big bar setup, new docks with dock girls, gas dock, stage for live music on weekends. Great view of the lake. Beware of the driveway potholes if you come by car. Put more butts in the seats, and I think the rest will come around.

VERY unorganized!!!!! There were only 3 tables with people and the service was SO slow(nice waitress). Food is just average. The building is all chopped up and VERY unorganized,VERY hard to find any employees... Windows were filthy, couldn't hardly see out to the lake... Never going to waist our time, wouldn't recommend!

10 of us stopped at the Flying Tortoise for lunch. We enjoyed the goat cheese puffs, nachos with spicy pesto and marinated steak, sliders and salads. Tea was freshly brewed and strong! Good stuff!!! View was great!

Unfortunately, our server was apparently new and had a hard time handling our group. Several of us paid in cash, thinking that would be easier for him and quicker. It was not. The executive chef did come to our table to visit, which we thought was very nice.
