Owner description: Imposing architecture and breathtaking scenery combine to make Ha Ha Tonka State Park one of Missouri’s most treasured spots. Located on the Lake of the Ozarks, the park features the stone ruins of a turn-of-the-20th-century castle built by a prominent Kansas City businessman high atop a bluff. More than 15 miles of trails traverse the park, leading visitors to sinkholes, natural bridges, caves and down to the lake.

This is a great state park. So many neat things to see. The castle ruins are really cool. The views from the bluffs are beautiful as are the springs. Some of the terrain on trails can be rugged but what you find will be worth the hike.

We went with my 82 year old mother and she was able to see most of the main attractions. The castle can be reached by everyone. It is uphill but there are lots of benches and sights to see on the way up. The cave was closed due to an illness with the bats but you can still see it. Great places for picnics and fishing. Lots of great views.

Amazing place - the castle ruins are the star attraction but we love the hiking especially alone the Spring trail to the 53,000,000 gallon per day spring and the amazing stairway up to the castle - new and wonderful views at every step

I visited Ha Ha Tonka SP when my children were small in the early 1970s. Wow what a different 40 years makes. This is one of the cleanest, nicest state parks in Missouri. The .5 mile walk to the spring is so pleasant and SO worth it. The castle ruins are amazing. Everthing is so well marked and the story of the area is easy to follow. There is hiking for all levels of ability. The visitor center is staffed with friendly, knowledgeable help. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit.
