Owner description: Imposing architecture and breathtaking scenery combine to make Ha Ha Tonka State Park one of Missouri’s most treasured spots. Located on the Lake of the Ozarks, the park features the stone ruins of a turn-of-the-20th-century castle built by a prominent Kansas City businessman high atop a bluff. More than 15 miles of trails traverse the park, leading visitors to sinkholes, natural bridges, caves and down to the lake.

“Beautiful place in our own backyard.”

We're from 2 hours away from here but I never imagined I'd find anything like this in Missouri. The castle ruins are breath taking and so are all of the views along the trail. This was our favorite find of our trip to the Ozarks. Next time pack a picnic. Lol.

“Trails for Hiking, Walking and Exploring”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

This is a large park designed for any level of exertion. Uphill trails lead to terrific views and more level ones skirt the lake. Overhead birds catch the wind currents and draw the eye up. Plenty of picnic areas in sun and shade provide fine places to rest and renew before venturing on again.

“Fantastic views”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

The ruins of the "castle" sit high overlooking the river and valleys - awesome views. Don't miss the trail to the spring head tucked away - short walk from parking area. Very scenic and worth the trip while in the area.
