Owner description: Imposing architecture and breathtaking scenery combine to make Ha Ha Tonka State Park one of Missouri’s most treasured spots. Located on the Lake of the Ozarks, the park features the stone ruins of a turn-of-the-20th-century castle built by a prominent Kansas City businessman high atop a bluff. More than 15 miles of trails traverse the park, leading visitors to sinkholes, natural bridges, caves and down to the lake.

Anyone who loves the outdoors will love this park. Lots of trails, beautiful sites, picnic areas, and plenty of walking for those who love to walk. Will go back again and again!

“A family friendly park”

Loved this park! The old castle was really cool to see, and there were some great hiking trails here. We brought a picnic and enjoyed the play grounds here too.

Have you ever been to the same place for vacation, over and over again, and one time decide to do something different. And when you do you find something unique and remarkable. This is one of those places. Bring comfortable shoes and enjoy!

“My Outdoor Gym”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

This park never becomes tiresome, the variety of hiking trails the incredible view, and the friendly people you meet make it worth the visit every time. I have been hiking this park for 19 years and it literally is my outdoor gym, the stairs to the castle add a special challenge to the park and keep my husband and I fit. Would highly recommend you check it out. The added wildlife is a bonus as well, river otters, deer and lots of turtles and ducks.

I have spent hours in the woods here. Great history and hiking. Plan on a few hour if you really want to see it all and don't forget to go to the visitors center.
