Skyline Resort
Reviewed August 7, 2013

We've been going to Skyline Resort for 12 years now and have some of our best memories from this family-friendly resort. It is located on a quiet no-wake cove, which is perfect for fishing and swimming. If you have a nice boat, you can't beat the water here - no need to worry about your boat banging against the dock because of high waves or big boats passing by.

The best skiing and tubing on the lake is a 5 minute boat ride to the little Niangua. The water is smooth as glass - especially early morning. If you want the action of the bigger part of the lake then it is only a 15-20 minute drive by car or a 30-40 minute drive by boat. Osage Beach is a 20 minute drive by car making it easy to get to the outlet mall, movie theater, nigh life and other attractions.

There are plenty of restaurants around by car or boat. We like to frequent Captain Ron's, The Fish & Co and Larry's on the Lake all by boat.

If you like to fish then it's tough to beat this resort. Crappie, bass, catfish all make for a great fish-fry at the end of the week.

The hosts are friendly, helpful and genuinely make you feel welcome and at home. The cabins are always clean. We have stayed in probably half of the 14 cabins over the years. They are air conditioned, have large refrigerators and are comfortable and secure.

We have visited the condos, large rental homes and larger resorts around the lake, but nothing compares to the simple family vacation of a cabin rental in a family resort on a beautiful lake.

We just got back Saturday and are already looking forward to next year!

Room Tip: If you have a boat let them know you need a slip.

We are so glad you have enjoyed your vacations staying at the resort the past 12 years. Since we have been gone only 8 years, you obviously stayed when we used to own the resort. We will look forward to your stay next year. Karen & Gary Foote

There is nothing better than waking up in the morning here, opening the door of your cabin, and catching the beautiful view.
This is a very cool spot.
The property has 12 or so cabin units on a peaceful cove off of the Big Niangua arm of The Lake of The Ozarks. All the cabins have different layouts.
The only other developments in this cove are upscale residential, and the views from all of the units are awesome. There is a huge swimming dock, many boat slips, gas, fishing docks, boat rentals, paddle boat, shelter, and fish cleaning station.
You get ice on the "honor system" by just penciling a hashmark next to your name. The place is laid back. Families, couples, fishermen, sophisticates, outdoorsy types, partiers, hikers will all have fun here. Bring a boat, rent a boat, or don't boat at all. Plenty of space to hang out by yourself, or socialize if you want.
The cabins are retro, as the place has been in business for decades, but they are clean and accommodating. The 70's and 80's furniture is actually pretty fun. All are fully equipped, air conditioned, cable TV, wireless internet, decks, grills, etc..
You really feel removed from the city, but there is a great grocery store very close by that has everything you need. Food, beer, wine, supplies, etc.
My wife and I took our two boys age 6 and 10 and our teenage daughter and friend for a weeklong stay. Every one of them had a blast.
The owners are very cool thirty or forty somethings who keep up an outstanding property and actually live on the resort themselves.
You can rent by the day, weekend, or week. You will not regret this.
