“While at Branson”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2014

We recently spent a few nights at Branson. If you haven't been to Branson, there is something for everyone there, and we enjoyed our hotel experience as much as everything else. Ask for a room on the north side of the building, our view was fantastic. We could see all of the way to the fire tower at Shepherd of the Hills! The breakfast was fantastic. We all enjoyed something different - my son liked the baking powder biscuits (I did too), my daughter enjoyed the yogurt and fruit (I did too), my husband enjoyed the eggs and fried meats and biscuits and gravy. The pool was chilly - 81 degrees and the bottom was rough, but the kids got used to it. The hot tub was rough on the bottom too - be careful not to scrape your toes. My kids are wanting to go back!

Room Tip: Rooms on the north have a better view

In the past we have always stayed at the Sheraton in Branson. We needed two rooms this trip and the Grand Plaza was more affordable. This hotel was okay. As others have noted the parking is a bit arduous and the swimming pool was disappointing. We have kids who love to swim and they found the pool bottom rough on their feet and it was pretty small. When it got busy in the pool it, frankly, got dangerous. The workout equipment is passing but nothing stellar. The free breakfast was very good. The overall feel at the hotel is interesting as signs are posted everywhere about NOT doing things or breaking rules. I used a luggage cart to take laundry to the washer and dryer and was scolded by an employee who said they had been looking for luggage carts all day and needed that one. I had him take it back until I needed it again. However, I found my cart along with four others waiting to be used on my way up from the laundry. Truly they had not "needed" the cart, but they are more about rule following than making the guest comfortable. It was strange. I did find the beds hard, but I like a very soft bed.

Room Tip: Our room was at the end of the hall. Loved this location with only one person on the other side.

This was about our 8th time to stay at this hotel and they are doing great with all of the upgrades they are doing. The breakfast area has been upgraded nicely. The pub at the top of the hotel looks 100% better. It's very nice to see the management putting money back into the hotel. The only two drawbacks are the elevators and the a/c in the room. The elevators are extremely slow and a hotel this large needs more than two elevators and one elevator being really small is not cool. The a/c did not work well in either of our rooms and it was not extremely hot outside during our stay.

The room and breakfast were great. Staff were friendly and responsive especially the concierge. The only negative was lack of parking behind the hotel close to the rooms. Sometimes you had to park in the other lot and walk up several flights of stairs to enter the front of the hotel. That caused a problem if you had luggage to take to your car.
The hotel was off the main drag so you could have privacy and it was also fairly quiet. I attended a road scholar program called Show Biz. Most of the participants were given accommodations on the 6th floor. The only other issue was having to go to the 9th floor for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Sometimes traffic created bottle necks and it took you some time to get back and forth from the 9th floor in between the lectures.

Room Tip: I would recommend a room above the 3rd floor. I was a solo traveler but met 27 other people who were...

The hotel rooms are very nice and clean. The free breakfast was also very good. Would have like to see more fresh fruit. I also liked that you could get show tickets right at the hotel and with a little bit of discount. We also ate at the restaurant and the food was very good. The only drawback is that the hotel is located a little off the main road, down the hill. This made walking anywhere undesirable. Also, the parking lot in the rear of the hotel filled up quickly so you had to park in the front which was on a fairly steep incline making you climb stairs. Not good when you are checking in and out.

Great place to stay. Perfect location, close to everything and right off the strip. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were superb. The breakfast and in house restraunt was amazing and the servers were very down to earth. Would definitely reccomend it to anyone.

We booked through Hotwire and were pleasantly surprised! The rooms are spotless and comfortable. We were on the seventh floor with a beautiful view! Very friendly staff and the location is perfect! Right in the heart of Branson! I would stay again anytime!
