“Embassy Without the Suite”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

Basically an Embassy Suites with regular rooms. Location is secluded on the lake which could be pro or con. Tonight having to walk up a goat hill from parking due to a wedding. Be ready to walk unless you valet. I mean walk

Dear totowntravel:
The Chateau is the flagship of John Q Hammons Hotels & Resort portfolio of 78 hotels. In our portfolio we do own and manage a number of Embassy Suites and the Chateau certainly has an "Embassyesque" feel what with an Atrium style lobby. Unlike our sister hotel all of or rooms as you rightly pointed out are not suites. We do have 47 suites with a layout much like an Embassy Suite.
Branson topography is certainly very hilly and flat parking lots are far and few between. I will point out however all of our registered guest can park in our indoor parking area without having to have their car valet parked.
I certainly do appreciate you taking the time to write a review following your stay and for the opportunity to respond. I only wish your stay would have been a more pleasant one and hopefully we will have the opportunity to be of service again in the future.

Sincerely,
Stephen Marshall

This was a return visit to an old favorite. This is truly an elegant hotel that should not be associated with the Branson image at all. You can go here and never go into Branson at all, except to eat, which is what we usually do. Although the food here is great but breakfast for 2 will be upwards of $25.
Since it was Christmas holidays the decorations were still up and they were very elegant. The manger scene is one of 2 in the world. The other is in Italy. We had a suite room with a lake view which is the only reason this reason for the location of this hotel. We could have sat on the balconey and enjoyed the view for hours. Splurge on a lake view-worth it! Since it was New Years Eve the hotel provided fireworks on grounds and they were wonderful!
Can't say enough about the service here. Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly! Not one problem. Would return tomorrow!

Room Tip: Lake views and the higher the better because of the open atrium

Nice stay at the Chateau on New Years Eve the room was very nice even though we had a pet friendly room. The only complaint I have is at the Party dinner service was very slow, and the bar ran out of three of the items we asked for and one of those was water. How do you make a Scotch and water without Water? At midnight they had someone playing bagpipes in the lobby and outside during the fireworks display, very nice touch. I would stay again.

We had a room over looking the lake and it was so beautiful during sun rise. Very elegant hotel enjoyed my stay and the service was superb. The hotel lobby had a waterfall and was well decorated for the holiday season.

This was our fourth stay at the Chateau with mostly the same level of good quality and service. This time we were there for New Years. The Chateau was beautifully decorated. Wonderful meals served for the holidays. Nice fireworks display overlooking the lake just outside of our balcony. Good maid service. Very clean room. Higher showers for tall people like me. Room was quiet. Walls well constructed. The bed (and pillows), were extremely comfortable. I felt as though I was sleeping on a cloud.
Excellent Spa, a little expensive but worth it. Peaceful and private.
I would give this resort a five star but the front desk clerk was indifferent and borderline rude three times.

We only were in town for the night, but were so glad we booked the bed and breakfast package at Chateau. We had a standard room with no view, but it wasn't a problem for us. Nice amenities and very clean. Tile bath and floors, nice bed. The weather was freezing, so we liked being able to do everything in one place without going outside. Two restaurants, a library lounge open late, small movie theater and pool. I'm sure the outdoor is nice in the summer. The indoor wasn't too appealing. Kind of murky and too strong of chlorine smell. Beautiful views of the Ozarks and lake. We would go back.
