“Good and fun”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

First, you would not even know this is a restaurant because it is an old gas station. And I mean old.

Second, you would pass right by it if you were hungry and you knew you could get breakfast there.

However, it was recommended to us by our concierge at the Marriott and we went. Lucky I had a GPS with me or we would have passed by.

It is a very unusual place. No matching furniture, small waiting area and one bathroom. There are all kind of collectibles about the place. Makes you glad that you are not a country girl. Doing wash in those days was a chore and a half!

So, I ordered the routine bacon, eggs, potatoes etc. a little boy ordered chocolate chip pancakes. What a surprise they were. A huge pile that hung over the side of the plate they were so big. We all had a chuckle.

There is a wait time so go before you get seriously hungry or early. The line is amazing and there is no parking. But, the food is darn food and it is one amazing experience.

Cash only.

Food good and place is fun

Hands down, best breakfast in Branson! Well worth the wait. Nice people and great food! Can't wait to go back! Don't forget to check out the gift shop with mostly local made goodies!

“home of "over-sized" pancakes”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

an "old-time", "homey" restaurant atmosphere. - looks to be housed in an old, side-of-the-road gas station. - i've only gone for breakfasts. - it is "home-grown" food. - the pancakes literally hang over your plate (they are normal serving plates). - i suggest you order only one pancake, unless you are exceedingly hungry or have several other you can share with. - you'll not be disappointed !!

“Billy Gail Promoted”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

We have seen for years how busy Billy Gail's is but finally ate there for the first time today. The food is good, and the staff is exceptionally warm and friendly, particularly Mrs. Gail who met us at the door, even though her husband Billy (who's photo was sitting at the front desk) passed away just yesterday! She said they are celebrating his "Promotion" to Heaven today and are not sad because they know He is free from illness, sadness, and any other difficulty & home today with Jesus. Remarkable! A memorial service will be held next Tuesday. The restaurant is quaint and humble, and I have a feeling Billy Gail was, too. They will be closed until January 25, 2013, when I am sure they will begin another successful season.

“homestyle scratch pancake”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Went for the pancake based on reviews - the pancake is a made from scratch (flour, eggs, milk, baking powder) like grandma made before mixes or a Swedish pancake. Thin, chewy (nearly gummy) slightly thicker than a crepe. Unfortunately - not my kind of pancake. French toast was OK. friendly and quick service. Wasn't busy on a Thursday after Christmas.
