The show is very different from most show in Branson, it was a musical comedy play with a wholesome theme and players that excell in their reactions and parts. It gave me a wonderful feeling inside after seeing it.

What would happen if a singing gospel family came to a southern country baptist church for a Saturday night singing performance...and things did not go as planned? You would have "Smoke on the Mountain"!! Set in 1938, every church has a Sanders family, and every family has a "June"...and a "Stanley", and "Denise" and, well, yeah. The antics of this group is hilarious, to say the least. Just Pure Funny!! And along with the songs, each as a story to tell. You won't even notice that, if you listen real close, you'll learn something about each of them...and a little about yourself, too. This seven member cast plays off each other very well.
Located off the Strip on the Red Route at the IMAX, this is one of Branson's TOP 5 shows!! Highly recommend this one and come back often myself. If you haven't seen the Christmas version, come again in Nov-Dec to see that one, too. Get there 20-30 mins early for a pre-show you'll enjoy, too.

This wacky tale of the adventures of a gospel group in a small church was a hoot. It combined the comedy with some good music. The actor's performances were top notch. The story is believable, especially if you live in NC, where it is set, which we do. The theater is small, but intimate, with the audience as the congregation.

My husband and I really enjoyed this show. Lots of laughs and great singing and music. Love the message of family that it sends. Highly recommend this show. Very comfy small theatre. All seats are good. The one woman who played the non-singing family member who played the accompaniment with tambourines, etc was amazing. Look out Tina Fey!!
