“Rustic cabins in the woods”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

My family reserved multiple cabins and A-Frames for my parent’s 50th anniversary. The cabins were clean and just what we expected. The only issue that we had was the steep hill that the resort sits on. Getting to and from the boat dock required a four wheel drive vehicle. The road itself was in need of resurfacing. Everyone really enjoyed the location and the owners were very nice. The cabin that I was in was a 3BR and it was the nicest out of all the units. It was very large and could accommodate our family when we gathered for meals. The resort is just past Silver Dollar City and was about 10 minutes from Branson West and the nearest Wal-Mart. This made it easy to shop for our food after we arrived. The kitchen in the 3BR unit was fully stocked with everything needed to prepare food. The A-Frames only had a mini-refrigerator and a very small stove.
The resort has boats for rent and we took advantage of one of the pontoon boats for a relaxing day out on the lake. All in all it was a great experience.

We stayed in an A-frame cabin for 5 nights and it was an excellent experience. The kids are still talking about there stay and are already asking when we are going back. The only issue we had was the coffee pot was unuseable due to the filler cover being missing andthe inside was nasty. But we just went and bought another coffee maker for 10 bucks and left it for the next guests. Silver dollar city was super close and we were able to buy 2 days for the price of 1 at the cabins. We will definitely be going back to stay at Bavarian village when we visit Branson from now. It was absolutely beautiful in the mornings, setting on our little deck sipping coffee, watching boats cruise by on the lake.

Pros: The family who owns/runs it are really nice. Their youngest son played with our son and he was a great kid. We stayed in A-frame 16 and view was amazing. We watched the sun set and lightening bugs. The lake is clear and cool and fun. The fishing was good. The location is right next to Silver Dollar City and an easy drive to the strip. The A frame is small for sure, but it was clean and had all the basics. Our 7 year old son LOVED sleeping in the loft. It got into the high 90's and the a/c kept it cool. It's quiet and truly relaxing. The pool was also small, but clean - we did our swimming in the lake, though since we can swim in a pool anywhere. There is a charcoal grill for cooking out and enough kitchen equipment to cook if you WANT to, but I don't know why you'd want to on vacation!

Pro/Con: Our cabin was not very far from the dumpster - far enough you don't smell it - convenient - until the trash pick up at 5 am one morning! I thought the walls were coming down! :)

Cons: It's really well used. The beds are not comfy and I was afraid to sit on the furniture without putting down a towel first. there was spot where the weather stripping for the front door needs to be replaced and we had a constant steam of "doodle bugs" (not the scientific name) and spiders. We sprayed some orange oil spray across the door jam, and it slowed them down, but by the time we left, we were over run. At least it wasn't ants or roaches! The stairs to the loft seemed sturdy, but all of the railings felt loose and wobbly. If you have more than 4 people you're going to be super cramped. I was a little bitter we didn't get an apple cake like all the reviewers we read before we booked it. ; )

Bottom Line: If you're used to camping, this is a great place to stay for a great price. If you like to stay at nice hotels, you're doing to be disappointed.

We rented an A-Frame cabin for four nights and had a great time. After a hot day at SDC it was
great that the cabin was only right down the road. For the money I paid it was a fantastic deal
and we will go back soon. The cabin was actually bigger than I thought it would be. If you are
looking for a quiet place to stay for a good price away from the main Branson strip, then this is
the place for you.

We enjoyed our stay, it was quiet and our A-frame had a perfect view of the lake. We chose it for it's location, price, having a kitchen so we didn't have to eat out all the time, and the idea of beds upstairs for the kids. The beds were seperated by the staircase and a dresser which was nice giving everyone their own space. It is very close to Silver Dollar City. The owners were very pleasant to work with. We cooked outside and ate at the picnic table next to the cabin. Wonderful experience!

We stayed at Bavarian Village April 1st -6th,2013 for spring break. What a great place. CLEAN cabins, great owners and excellent service. It's in a very quite wooded area with excellent views of table rock lake. The cedar cabin was roomy, comfy and very clean. We had 12 people and had plenty of room. Dan and Michelle were awesome and if we needed anything they were always ready and willing to help. We will definitely be coming back and soon!

Wow! What a great view, great service, spotless cabin, and quiet surroundings! Everything was perfect! The only "bobble" was the water....the first person to take a shower took a sulphur bath. The smell was pretty bad, but after the initial shower, the rest of the time was fine. The owner told us he thought he didn't have that problem in the cabins, but now that he knew, he would fix the problem. He was a very good proprietor. It was so nice to be able to spend an entire day at Silver Dollar City, and just go less than a mile to our cabin! Wow! Never even have to go into the hustle of "the strip" unless you just wanted to. So peaceful! Definitely a place we plan to stay at again!!

Room Tip: the cabins seem to be newer than the A-frames. They have a new smell to them, where the A-frames sme...
