This was one of the courses that our foursome played on our golf trip to Branson this past August. We were fortunate with the weather in that a front moved through from the north and the weather was very pleasant for mid August. Our group has taken three trips to Alabama to play the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail and for the past three years we went to Hot Springs Village to play some of the courses there. This year we decided to try Branson. We played at Branson Creek and Payne Stewart.
The Payne Stewart course is very hilly with a lot of elevation changes. There are many holes that have great views. It is a very challenging course. The first time you play the course there are several holes that I had problems judging the distance to hazards or knowing whether a creek ran across the landing area. The second time playing the course would enable me to have a better knowledge of the course layout. With that course knowledge I would enjoy playing the course more the second and subsequent times.
