Been going to SDC for over 40 years and this is the first time at Christmas. The lights and decorations were beautiful but sooooo crowded! The best thing to do it find a place to just sit and watch. I’ll keep my trips to spring, summer, and fall...just a little less crowded.

Such a great park with lots of shade, great food, cute shops and old time crafts and trades. It is very clean and efficient. There are rides there for people of all ages and excitement levels! We really love the Powder Keg, Widfire and Outlaw Run coasters! Tom and Hucks River blast is a blast. You will get soaked!!! Love the efficient parking lot trams. We have gotten season passes for a few years now and it's totally worth it! We really love the Christmas lights there that start in November!

The Christmas Lights were amazing, but there were so many people. It made it hard to actually admire the views. It also is pretty expensive if you are just wanting to see the lights. We had a 5 month old, so riding the rides wasn’t possible. Lights were pretty though.

Spent the first Saturday of December here. It was a very warm day. It probably made it to 60 degrees out. The weather was great and so the crowds turned out. It was wall to wall people in the park. Every where you went it was packed. From rides, to shows, to even trying to get something to eat, you had to wait in a line. Stores were packed also. I was glad to have the warm weather but it was just very crowded.

When you arrive at Silver Dollar City there is free parking and parking closer to the park that cost. We paid to park close but it took us probably 15 minuets to get to the gate to pay because of the traffic. If you park in free parking there are shuttles to take you to the park. Just remember where you park because there are quite a few different parking lots.

Once you get to the park you can purchase tickets. Next to the ticket office is restrooms and lockers. We got a locker to put our coats in. We knew we wouldn't need them during the day, but we would need them at night. We did not want to carry them all day so we paid $8.00 for a locker. If was fairly large, we had 3 adult coats in it and there was still room. You can pay for the locker with a debit or credit car. No keys, it uses your birth date and a color you pick. So no worries about losing a key.

Next you walk a short distance to enter the actual park. They were checking all bags which made the lines a little slow but nothing horrible. Grab a news paper on your way in so you will have a map, a list of all the attractions and show times. It was a very busy day so we thought we would pay the $10 to reserve seats at one of the shows. By the time we got there ( an hour after the park opened) the Dickens show we wanted to see was all sold out of the reserved seating so we waited in line for an hour to see the show! It was worth it. Although it was very warm in the theater but it was warm outside.

The line for the train during the day took about 45 minuets. We waited in line for food for about 25 minuets and then there was no place to sit at the tables. We ended up sitting on bricks that surrounded a tree.

We waited in line for an hour at the Saloon. This show was laugh out loud funny. I highly recommend it. Then we waited for the parade. The parade was ok. Not the best I have been to but if you have little people they would definitely enjoy it. It only last about 10 minuets. But the lights though out Silver Dollar City were amazing. In some spots in the park it was like being in another world. We watched the tree display with music also. It was neat. Just a beautiful place to be at night with all the lights. It felt magical.

As you make purchases, you can pick them up on your way out of the park. It is nice that you don't have to carry all your purchases with you.

We went to get our coats as the sunset and we had to exit the park in order to get to the lockers. Make sure you have your ticket stub with you before you leave the park. We did not see any place where you could just get your hand stamped so that you could reenter the park. So we got our coats and had to have our bags rechecked and dig out our ticket stubs. I asked if there are lockers located somewhere else and they said that there are some just inside the park. So when we reentered the park we looked for them and sure enough there are some once you pass the store with the cave. They are next to the restrooms and are only $6.00 and you don't have to leave the park to access the lockers.

Dress appropriate for the weather and wear good walking shoes. The park is very hilly.

Even though it was extremely crowded the day we went, we still had a nice time. I would highly recommend coming during Christmas for the lights.

Silver Dollar City is top notch! The employees are friendly, the food is good, the rides are awesome! We can’t get enough of this place! When you walk in you just feel at home! The Christmas lights here are phenomenal! I didn’t know that they could get anymore in the park. But WOW!!! Thank you again for another wonderful visit!!!
