“The biggest waste of money and time ever!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013

Within 10 minutes it was nothing but awful-crappy rides (go to a traveling carnival-you'd at least be supporting carnies!), faded paint, stereotypes galore, second rate "shows", dirty bathrooms, poor signage. Took my niece, an autistic child who'd never been to an amusement park, and she hated it after an hour (she can't really speak but her body language spoke volumes). On the train ride they stop at a "hillbilly" lean-to where they managed to insult women, gays, native Americans, blacks and then chase each other around with guns for 10 minutes! I'd have left right then except we wanted my niece to enjoy something- however bad it might be. We spent 1/2 hour at the kids section (lots of dirty, old nerf balls being shot from air canons or other various means) tried to choke down some God awful food (obviously recycled from last year), and walked in circles to try to escape this hell on earth (by noon there must've been thousands of other poor suckers-during the off season!) except the signage was so bad we couldn't find the exit. By the time we did manage to figure it out (through a huge gift shop-my niece was almost screaming to leave at this point) we were firm in the conviction that even though we'd bought a two day pass we'd eat the money. It's like disneys white trash cousin, but more pathetic.

Here's to hoping they go out of business, but I'm guessing they won't, dammit.

“Don't go opening weekend in March”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013

We went last weekend , which was
opening weekend. It cost us $180.00 for 3 people. Only after buying tickets and going in did we learn that none of the shows were playing, most of the stores weren't open yet and many of the rides weren't functioning. We were told that the shows and the stores will open April 11. It was a complete waste of money. If the park had limited function then they should have discounted the tickets. To pay full price for less than 1/3 of the attractions was wrong. We won't go back.

“Enjoyed every minute of it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013

I enjoyed the food and rides they had. This is a kind of trip for all families! There are little kid rides too if you have a youngster. And rollercoasters for the older ones. I'm sure your family will enjoy it as much as my family did!

“Overpriced!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

We are from the Dallas Area and so we have access to Six Flags Over Texas. I had been to SDC as a child and remember it being fun. As amusement parks go the roller coasters rate in the Excellent to Very Good range. However, I felt the price of the admission ticket was too much! It was twice the price of admission to get into SDC as it is for SFOT. Also just in case you have never been, the park is all hills. You walk up and down some very steep hills so just be prepared for that.

“Silver Dollar City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

I have visited Silver Dollar City for years and years. They are a great, super family friendly theme park. Good entertainment for free in the park, Cave tours, little kid rides, older kid rides, and now it boasts "the most daring wooden roller coaster in the world." It is a great place to spend a day, or two. It is best for those of us that don't live to far away and can visit several of their festivals throughout the year.
