I will NEVER go back to Silver Dollar City..there is NOTHING to do there, and the food is terrible! After you sit through 30 minutes of stop and go traffic to arrive there, prepare to be met with a whole lot of nothing! I had heard, that they had some more rides than the first time I visited, in the 90's. They are for very small children, not teenagers. They advertise the Fall Festival, as something full of crafter's, great country food, and exhibits..not so much! It was over-crowded, with people walking around, looking for something to do! The food is just average state fair offerings, and is grossly over-priced! Most of the crafts we picked up, had MADE IN CHINA stickers on them!! The only thing this place has going for it is the scenery, and the only thing that saved the weekend for my family, was Branson Landing....

Silver Dollar City is a really fun amusement park that also includes a fantastic cave tour and live shows. We took the cave tour both days we visited the park. The roller coasters are quite good. We visited in Oct. so lines were really short. The live shows were fantastic. The Frontier Follies and the GAC show were both very well done. Although we do not shop at this type of venue, the variety of stores and booths is exceptional. The food was priced as anyone would expect at a theme park, but is is of good quality. We did do the buffet lunch and enjoyed it. We will be back to visit again.

Parking was great as a season pass holder, well worth the $6. As always, the staff were very hospitable and friendly. The saloon and western stunt show were awesome. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed both. GAC night after the park closed was a great country music show, funny too. My only complaint is that it seems they take advantage when I buy a refillable mug that expires. I did this at Kid's Fest last year, and that $10 mug, advertised as cheaper than the park's traditional one when purchased before going through the Hospitality House, was only good during the Kid's Fest. This year in the saloon show we wanted a root beer float; unfortunately, we forgot our three mugs purchased previously, so I agreed to buy the unique saloon one. Of course, it is only good for the 2012 season. Once again, I feel taken compared to the two other mugs that have no expiration date. The value of the park as a season pass holder is good if you return throughout the year, but close to $200 for an eight hour day is a little high for a family of four. The value of the mug good only for a limited time is not an exceptional deal either if only going once. As always, we will return, just more cautiously, and we hope to remember our mugs. Looking forward to riding the monstrosity of a roller coaster, Outlaw Run, when it opens in March, 2013. The train ride shows great views of the coaster and is entertaining as well.

Silver Dollar City has become too commercialized. Very few of the crafts and items in the gift shops aren't made there anymore. And in fact, most are made in China. We bought almost nothing. It has become an amusement park for kids mostly. And it is overpriced. We will not be returning there again.

Silver Dollar City is the perfect place to go and relax. My wife and I love the sounds of the Ozarks that can be heard and the smells of old fashion foods that are found at Silver Dollar City. We love to sit and watch as old time craftsman work on their projects and how open they are to answer questions about their craft. We always get at least one bag of the delicious kettle corn to share between us. We have been to Silver Dollar City several times and have enjoyed every trip.
