Went for Sunday roast with the Fam to celebrate sons birthday. Roasts were very good actually, Me & Wife had the beef (rare), son had pork, other son had.... wait for it..... club sandwich..... anyway..... The Roasts were very nice. Just a few little things that would have nudged to 5.
1, A little more meat
2, Yorkshire Pud with the Pork
3, Roast Pots were ok, but felt that they had been waiting for while.

Generally a very good Roast though, would recommend to anyone.

We came here for dinner and to be honest we were expecting a lot more from the menu. We had heard it was 'posh' and we were going out so didn't mind spending the money. I was hoping for something like venison but no such luck. Very plain menu. The food came out promptly and staff were very nice. Food was good just had there tapas and burger. Isn't overpriced. They happened to have a live band on when we went which was great. Stayed there for most of the evening. Drinks were nice lots of choice and a fair price. Would definitely revisit.

A large well run pub with accommodation. Excellent range of drink and really good food. The service is most polite and efficient. Well worth a visit.

We went to The Walnut Tree one evening during a canal boat trip. It was mid week and we ate in the bar area although ordered our meal from the restaurant menu. Their main restaurant is open Fridays and Saturdays (eves). The Walnut Tree is a small hotel / guesthouse with 11 rooms. We were first sat at a table out of the way although did have to move as the LEDs above us were very bright and hot. This was no bother at all and all the staff were incredibly accommodating.

Our starters were delicious although served in very small bowls on one black slate tile put in the middle of us sitting opposite each other. This made eating out of them with a regular knife and fork was awkward. It didn't bother us as the flavours were fantastic but the presentation was a bit odd, especially for a country pub. The mains were served on a plate and were amazing. My other half had a seafood linguine which was delicious. I had stuffed chicken thigh with vegetables - it was divine!

We didn't have room for dessert but saw some and they looks scrummy too. There was live music in the Ellington Room (jazz) which was nice. Staff were friendly and attentive.

All in all, we were really impressed, would return and would recommend

Waited a very very long time for a very mediocre meal served by staff who very obviously didn't want to be there and really need some training in customer service. What a shame.
