This cottage was situated in a lovely village just off the village green where you could watch a game of cricket at the week end. It was near beautiful places such as Oxford and the Cotswolds, shopping centres such as the designer outlet in Banbury and Milton Keynes and stately homes such as Cannons Ashby and Waddesdon Manor and within easy reach of London and Stratford upon Avon. However the cottage did not live up to its location. It's outside space was so overgrown it was unusable and prevented light reaching the cottage. It was not possible for the 4 of us to sit outside without blocking entry to other houses, though 2 rusty chairs and a table were available outside. Lightning was poor downstairs and it was not possible to read or sew without getting a headache. The kitchen lacked basic essentials such as a tin opener, potato peeler and tea pot. I also had to go out and buy a cafetière, a bowl and whisk and baking dish. The cottage had a washing machine but wet washing had to be left in the lounge or bedroom for up to 3 days to dry on a cloths airer as with overgrown outside space there was no washing line. All these things could easily be rectified to make a lovely cottage, but as it stands I would unfortunately not recommend it to anyone. Perhaps I could have continuously phoned the owner but from past experience this is never a good move.
Well where do I start!... simply the best accommodation this side of the world! The owner and management are the nicest people in this business, they went out of their way to help us on numerous occasions. The cottage itself was only matched in beauty by the spirit of the hosts.. stunning!
Like a scene from a Disney movie / Storybook, set in idyllic surroundings. ..in a perfect little village.
I don't have a single point to the negative! .. a truly unique and fabulous place. . We will be back!
Thanks Christine and Alistair for a marvellous time.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is cosy, it's small but was large enough for us for our stay. Our children loved their bedroom at the top of the cottage. The area is very quiet and restful. Evenley village is lovely, we arrived to see a cricket match on the green in glorious sunshine! We recommend dinner at the Red Lion in the village, which has a children's play area in the pub garden. There are also great places to eat in nearby Brackley. The cottage is well placed for visiting several NT properties and gardens nearby, as well as Oxford and the north of the Cotswolds.

Myself, partner and children stayed at this beautiful cottage during March, it was a cosy home from home stay. The evenly Village is also very peaceful and is in a great location.
The owner of the property is wonderful and was very helpful in attending to any of our needs whilst we occupied the cottage.
Would highly recommend
