The Hampton Inn and Suites in Blue Springs, MO was undergoing a major renovation to the reception area at the time my wife and I stayed for one night in late October 2012. On the plus side, our room was very clean and fully stocked, noise from the renovation activity did not affect our rest, and the Inn staff members we encountered were helpful and apologetic for the mess and disruption caused by the renovation. Nevertheless, we felt the dust in the “lobby”, the uncomfortably high temperatures in the lobby, halls, and breakfast/dining area seemed unnecessarily out of control. Other issues for us included some of the “fresh” fruit set out for breakfast (melon cubes, peeled orange sections) which was decidedly not fresh. The lack of facilities at the Blue Springs Hampton Inn for either laundry or physical fitness also was a concern for us. We would have kept looking had we known of the Inn’s shortcomings before we considered booking the night.

Room Tip: Wait until the lobby renovation has been completed

Overnight stay. Lobby was being renovated, but they accommodated everyone very well. Clean rooms. Very clean and comfortable bed! Our dog also liked it - dog area in the back with a baggie station! Good area with plenty of restaurant choices. Right off Interstate 70.

My recent stay at the Hampton Inn was AWESOME. The hotel is bright, clean & well maintained. Ever staff member I came across was very friendly & helpful. The room was clean & comfy. What really blew me away was the breakfast. I was expecting cold cereal & bagels but it was AWESOME!! Hot items from eggs, oatmeal, waffles to fresh fruit, pasteries, yogurt & the list goes on. The breakfast lady was constantly working on keeping everything well stocked. I really was impressed and would definitely stay there again or at any Hampton Inn for that matter. Keep up the great work!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back of the building were very quite.

Upon entering this hotel, the evening desk clerk was extremely pleasant and helpful. We appreciated the luggage carts and automatic doors for ease of bringing in our baggage.

Hot water and coffee were available all evening long in the lobby- unfortunately, nothing kid-friendly there as no hot chocolate, apple cider, or herbal teas available.

No exercise room available. But great non-chlorine swimming pool with really fun wall decor.

Rooms were comfy and clean and the air conditioner was able to be set so that the fan hummed all night long, therefore not interrupting our sleep by cycling on and off. Although we were right off the interstate, we didn't hear traffic noise except if sirens went by.

Price was average and a bit lower by being on the east side of the larger metropolitan Kansas City area.

Our third night in a Hampton inn. Very pleased with this one. Clean and comfy. Breakfast was hot and yummy. Many items offered. Fresh fruit was refreshing. Coffee is good. Dining room was full at breakfast and the young lady behind desk showed us to the meeting room so we could enjoy our meal. Thermostats in most hamptons make the room more comfortable than usual hotel rooms. One thing we have noticed in Hampton Inns is the amount of soundproofing in doors and windows. There was heavy walking noise from room above. Seems to be lacking in comparison to other chains. That would be our only complaint. Furniture in room is very comfortable. WIFI great. TV very nice. Desk with many outlets. As always, we slept well.

Room Tip: Something on back side of inn may have been more quiet. Ac a little loud, 1st floor had noise from r...

Although this hotel was quick to help us out with a room for one night without a reservation, they didn't seem to have the outstanding customer service we are used to from the Hampton Inn's we have stayed at in the past. Upon checking in, our two teenage children (who hadn't spoken a word) were lectured by the front desk clerk about behavior. After getting settled in, we went to the lobby and sat at a table to chat with another couple staying there. The front desk clerk was not happy and suggested we move to the other side of the lobby so she didn't have to listen to us. Had she asked nicely it wouldn't have bothered me so much but she was rude in her approach. The following morning I came down to the front desk to ask for additional towels. When I approached the front desk clerk (different from prior night) she didn't greet me. Instead, she looked up at me from the computer and didn't say a word. No good morning or anything. I asked for a few more towels to which she walked into the back room and then just handed them to me. I was the only person in the lobby & she did not appear to be very busy. As for the hotel itself, it isn't up to Hampton Inn standards. Hotel staff was not dressed professionally. The rooms were big and updated. The bathroom was very nice size and clean. The bed was very comfortable and bedding was good. The maid was very helpful in getting us additional bedding for the sofa pull out. The pool area was very warm and small. They do not have any tables in the pool area....only chairs to sit in & watch the kids swim. The breakfast was by far the best part of the trip. Breakfast burritos and fresh fruit were very good. The elevator was small and very slow. However the stairs were not air conditioned and miserable in KC in July. All in all it was an okay stay but for a Hampton Inn they could use some improvements.
