“Perfect- delicious food, lovely surroundings and sumptuous pillows!”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

2nd visit after enjoying dinner so much the first time, but this time stayed over. The food was delicious, the service was great- attentive and happy. Our room was beautiful, simple but extremely comfy and a shower big enough to share! We finished off a lovely romantic evening sat in front of the real log fire- perfect!

“lovely restaurant in a great location”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

this was the third time we've been to the Bell for an adult family get together. Usually 6 of us, but today just 5 (including 3 big men with big appetites). The food is absolutely excellent, and there were only 4 tables occupied (surprisingly) so the waitress was very attentive. The service, however, has never disappointed, regardless of how full or not the restaurant is. Today we all had 3 courses each, plus a good bottle of Malbec and 4 separate glasses of good NZ Sauvignon Blanc. We ate for approx. £45 per head, including the wine. The décor is attractive (and festive for the time of year), and the toilets are incredibly clean (an important point, I think, as it reflects the overall cleanliness of the restaurant). We really do like it there and will go again.

All our meals were delicious, and perfectly cooked - the best steak I have had in years! A wonderful meal and excellent service.

“well i dont know”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

What a difficult review. I have got to say the the food was absolutely delicious, the best i have ever had. i must thank them for that. My wife, son and i went to The Bell for Sunday lunch. It was a special occasion, my wifes birthday, so we thought normally out of our price range but we would push the boat out.
Small details let it down. We were the only table not given bread when we sat down, when our main course came there were just two meals we were told the chef was unhappy with the third and so it was being redone. We sat and waited with two meals going cold. We were given the smallest little pot of gravy when the table of three next to us were given a jug. When we ordered two cheese boards we asked for bread not crackers, we were given one with crackers and one with two small pieces of bread. When i said to the lad bringing it to me that we ordered with bread he said yes and simply left never to return. Whilst my wife and i had finished our son was still eating his cheese board the young girl who had served us through the majority of the meal started to clear the table, my son had bread in his hand and was putting it to his mouth when she took his plate. My son said he had not finished but we said to continue clearing as we were starting to feel a little uncomfortable and we wanted the meal to be special. Fantastic bottle of woody nook shiraz with meal. three of us ate for £100.10, very cheap for what it was. Got to say again what food! delicious.
We were perhaps not the sort of diner they are looking for.

“Delicious food in comfortable restaurant”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

The service was good even though our waitress appeared to be rushed of her feet as she dealt with the whole restaurant! The restaurant was not too busy this time and we were seated away from other diners, which made the experience very pleasant. The menu was varied and the prices were reasonable for the food served. The food was well presented and delicious. The wine selection was good if pricey.
