Our school band stayed here for a contest. The hotel is very nice and the staff is VERY courteous. They made sure all of our needs were met, from making 50 copies of something for me or putting a refrigerator in my room. The staff was outstanding. I just disliked having to pay $13.00 for internet in my room. That's each day. Plus, parking is $10.00 a day. Seems a little steep for both.
We paid ahead for a hot breakfast each morning. We were there 3 mornings and had eggs, fried potatoes and bacon or sausage each time. It unfortunately wasn't all that good. They do have a nice little shop and a Starbucks in the lobby. We had cocktails one night in the lounge and service was slow, but the drinks were good. I would stay there again simply because the hotel is so nice and the staff was so impressive.

Room Tip: This hotel accomodates many schools as they did ours. Make sure you get a room away from where they...

Be careful when you book with this hotel. It has a new side and the horrible old side and they charge the same. The older side near the pool is horrible and rooms are the same even though they seem to be renovated. Ask to have a room in the towers.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the towers.

Stayed at the Airport Marriott because we had a 6:30 a.m. flight and didn't want to get up at 2:00 to drive to St. Louis. We got a really good price for room and parking for a week. The shuttle runs every half hour. Upon arrival back to St. Louis if you are at the main terminal they pick you up upstairs. Will stay there again.

Very nice lobby, quick check-in, good service at the front desk, but my room was TINY. They wanted to charge $12.99 for WIRED internet access, and the AC was stuck on full blast, even though the temps dipped down into the 40's that night. Needless to say, I was happy to check out the next morning and get in a car witrh a working heater. I am booking the Renaissance next trip out there.

most of my family and i stayed here the weekend of 4/13. my sister was running in the st louis marathon, and by the time we decided to go, all of the downtown hotels were booked. we knew the home opening series for the cardinals would be that weekend. we didn't know at the time that there were also a couple of national conventions, and even a biker rally in town, along with the marathoners & baseball fans. it also turned out that the blues hockey team had a home playoff game on saturday, which wasn't scheduled until after booking. and on saturday night, there was a prom in one of the ballrooms. the hotel was completely booked, but the staff did a great job of handling the large crowd. check in was very quick, even with about a dozen parties checking in. the bellmen were very helpful and attentive. the airport shuttle drivers were always on time and helpful with explaining the metrolink system.

the hotel restaurant had very good steaks for dinner and a solid breakfast buffet on sunday. the prices for food & drink weren't the cheapest, but pretty much in line with many other hotels. dining options in the area are rather limited, so this isn't a bad alternative.

the rooms were average size. the bathrooms were still in good shape. the fixtures didn't show any corrosion and the grout was still in place. the beds and bedding were very comfortable. my brother needed a crib for his toddler daughter, and the staff had it up to his room within 15 minutes of check in.

location and price were only average for me, but that has more to do with timing than anything else. it was a high demand weekend, so there were really no places in town that weren't marking up their rates accordingly. most of the activities we were wanting to attend were all downtown. the airport shuttle's first stop is the metrolink station at the airport. that was convenient enough, but it was still a 30-40 minute trip to & from downtown. if your intention is to fly in or out of lambert, the location is pretty much perfect. overall, i was very pleased with my stay here.

This hotel always has their hand out. Staying over 6 days for business, I felt constantly pressured to pay for one thing or another. Please know I have a significant problem with hotels that make you pay for internet -- particularly so-called 'business hotels.' What a crock. Paying for internet is like renting towels -- it went out with boarding houses. Plus, having a business center with computers where you have to put in your credit card before you get 15 minutes of free service for printing your boarding pass -- what a crock. Don't Marriott executives have other more viable and less intrusive ways to skin clients? Other than paying for internet, parking, etc., the hotel is OK. The staff is very friendly, particularly Bill at the front desk who was the only person to recognize that i was a Marriott Gold member and treat me according to this status. The only way I would stay here again is if forced -- friends stayed at the Renaissance downtown and had a much more pleasant and fulfilling experience. This hotel would not be my choice in the future.
