“Decent Park & Fly Hotel”

"Park and Fly" Special is pretty good. Yes, the property is old. Rooms have small beds and have an odor (like cigarette smoke), even though they are listed as non smoking. Breakfast is next door at the "Golden Pancake" restaurant. It was good. Considering the free breakfast; parking-- it was like getting the room for free. Park and Fly hotels are almost never very nice, but this one is "doable."

Room Tip: No elevator, so take a lower floor room if you have luggage and do not want to climb stairs.

Our family met in St. Louis and thought we were in for a great time. We arrived at the hotel and courteously greeted. Our room was ok, but what we expected. Our problem happened when we brought the kids to the pool. Within the first 5 minutes, my 8 year old got a dime sized cut on his foot when he climbed out using the ladder. As my husband carried him to the room, I rushed to the front desk to see if they had band aids. The first aid kit they had contained burn cream, 2 tweezers, insect wipes, 4 antiseptic wipes, an ice pack, and gauze, nothing else. Apparently, there have been many injuries here. Luckily, the manager gave immediate clearance for someone to run to a gas station to get band aids and antiseptic gel since apparently the first aid kit in their airport shuttle was in the same shape. Fifteen minutes later they called and delivered to my room. While this was happening, my older son and his cousin looked at the other 2 ladders and saw loose/missing screws on both. Hoping they are fixed soon. As I said, all staff was respectful and helpful throughout our stay, so they raised my rating up.

I will start by saying we were there on a very busy weekend, which could be why it was so expensive. The hotel was very dirty. The pool was un-swimable because of the trash in the water. Repulsive. The free breakfast is at the restaurant in the same parking lot as the hotel. You recieve 2 pancakes, 2 piece of ham, 2 pieces of sausage, and scrambled eggs. Nothing else. Everything was subpar. Our room door didn't open correctly, the curtains were broke, and I felt like I needed to wear socks the entire time I was in the room because the carpet felt gross. The beds were extremely small. Basically if you're forced to stay in Saint Louis because your flight is delayed and it's the only option, it won't be too bad. but if you're going for a vacation and you're expecting the hotel to look like the pictures, you'll be very upset.

From the moment we walked into this hotel we were not pleased. The pictures online for this hotel are nothing like the real thing. I'm pretty sure they are fake pictures. The room was supposed to be non smoking and you could definitely tell that someone had smoked in it. The bathroom had a leak around the toilet. The cabinet that the tv was sitting on had a door that was hanging off the hinges. In the morning we put a little black dot on the sheets to make sure they changed them when we returned. The same black dot was there when we got back to the room. Broken chairs were just hanging out in the hallway. There is supposed to be a free shuttle that picks you up from the airport and takes you to the hotel. We called the hotel for this shuttle and we waited for an hour. They did not pick us up and we ended up taking a taxi back to the hotel. The customer service at this hotel was so terrible. When we called for the shuttle, one of the employees hung up on us. Hands down, this is the absolute worst hotel that I have ever staid in. I don't recommend it for anyone.

I stayed here while seeing the sights of St. Louis.

Pros: Management was very accommodating.
Free full sized breakfast at the restaurant next door.
Price.
Pool.
Comfortable and spacious rooms.

Cons:

Breakfast was meat only and pancakes, no healthy options such as fruit, yogurt, and cereal, bagel etc.

they have updated many of the showers with slabs of granite, but did not replace the internal plumbing, thus they are still using very old fixtures…an extra $100.00 materials and labor will benefit you for another 20 years…poor cost cutting move.

overall--I would grade it "B"

Room Tip: ask for a room in the back-very quiet…

Was able to check in a little earlier than planned and that was helpful. The beds were well made with crisp sheets and lots of pillows. The bathroom was clean and the floor shined along with the sink countertop. Just a nice place to stay the night for the money. Would definitely go back. Also was able to leave the vehicle there while away on a trip.

Room Tip: Our room was near the pool so it could be noisy but it didn't bother us much.

Needed a good night's rest prior to flight and this fit the bill at a reasonable price. We also left a vehicle while gone on our trip. Comfortable bed, quiet night and a hot shower were what we needed and what we got. Good value Park'nFly. Nothing fancy but just there to sleep!
