This was our first time staying overnight at Gold Strike and it was overall an enjoyable experience. Dinner at the Chicago Steak House was excellent, although I felt over priced as each item in a dinner was a separate charge. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I was surprised at the lack of an in-room fridge and the depth of the tub.

Stay one time and you will return. Close to Memphis but highway 302 will probably have everything you need. The rooms are the best in the Tunica area of casinos. I have stayed in 80 percent of the hotels over the past 25 years.

Room Tip: Quick service on everything. Just ask.

We just enjoyed a third stay at the Gold Strike and had a great time. The resort is really Las Vegas level, albeit smaller. Guest rooms are good and the beds are very comfortable; the exercise room is good compared to many hotels and the staff's customer service skills are excellent. What is still extremely lacking is the food service throughout the property. The buffet is okay and we have not tried the on site steak restaurant. However, there is a huge, huge gap in the quality of the food court -- ever present in most hotels/casinos today. There are three fast food style restaurants, one (Gold's Deli) of which is closed more than it is open. Gold Strike really needs to invest some capital in upgrading this part of their facility as a more robust, diverse food court which could retain customers and likely generate revenue. The fact that you have to walk to a down-class hotel across the street to get a Starbuck's coffee makes no sense -- Gold Strike should have a Starbuck's on site; they are losing gamblers to the adjacent hotel!

Casino is still my favorite, wish I'd caught more of the drink ladies but my fault for playing off the beaten path. Always do well on the casino floor. Make sure to read reviews of the buffet from mid 2013 on, it's a ton better than last year. Also they have good live music going and that area is packed all the time. I don't gamble at tables but I did well on machines and the roulette machine. Make sure to stick to your plan of attack and you'll come in under budget for trip in casino!
