As Gold Strike was part of Mandalay Bay group last visit, was concerned(based on my history) that MGM/MLife Group would have curtailed perks - not so- I was treated wonderfully. Staff- Casino Dealers and Staff, Player Development, Hotel and Spa Staff, Dining - all excellent.
Hotel- Hard water when washing/bathing remains(although treating all the water used here is a lofty goal). Pillows too soft, but they give you extras. Elevators are a problem on Sundays around 10:30 until noon(check outs)- 1 was non working, and I was on the 30th floor(of 32); it took over 15 minutes to get a non-full elevator, and people rode up to ride back down.
Spa - like anywhere, when kids are in the pool area, its too loud(one of three visits I made there); jacuzzi perfect temp, nice workout room.
Casino - best around - table mins let you drop back and manage your money($5 craps round the clock, with 20X odds). I had an issue with a missing marker, and was elevated to the pit manager, who quickly and personally handled it to conclusion. I'm no high-roller, thowing around the occasional green chip, but mostly reds; if you travel in, they take good care of you.
The area does not have much diversion for non-gaming; Memphis is 45 mins away, and is limited to Graceland and Beale Street. Memphis International Airport has limited non-stop traffic to/from Baltimore, so my returns will be dependent...As Gold Strike was part of Mandalay Bay group last visit, was concerned(based on my history) that MGM/MLife Group would have curtailed perks - not so- I was treated wonderfully. I'll be back in months, not years. I'd put it #1 of casinos I've visited, including AC, DE, Vegas, New Orleans, Niagra, MD, CT.More
